My Long-Awaited Visit to Suzumushi-dera Temple in Kyoto

I finally went to Suzumushi-dera Temple in Kyoto, a place I had wanted to visit for a long time.
*This is a story about a trip taken in May 2024.

I went to Suzumushi-dera Temple in Kyoto,
a place I had always wanted to visit.

This temple is home to a Jizo statue known for granting one single wish.
Meeting that Jizo statue was the purpose of this trip.

First, you encounter the stairs leading up to the temple.
As I climbed each step, I was enveloped by the soft sunlight filtering through the trees and the clear air, and my heart naturally calmed down. Even before making my wish, it was a sacred time where my mind felt strangely centered.

After completing the reception, I attended a 30-minute sermon.
The sermon, which I listened to while enjoying tea and sweets, was very unique. It was full of laughter and lessons, and the 30 minutes flew by in an instant.

After the sermon, I received an amulet and a talisman,
and finally went to see the Jizo statue that grants one wish.

With all my heart, I made my one and only wish.

Looking back on this trip now that some time has passed, I can still remember the clear air and the sunlight filtering through the trees from that day.

Whether my wish came true or not... that is a story for another time.
