Dwarf Chestnuts

The kitchen sink was piled high with dirty dishes and cups.
I'd been working overtime for months, and I often lacked the energy to wash them, leading to this state.
"I guess cup ramen is fine for tonight too."
As I crouched down to rummage through the cupboard under the sink, I saw something marching in a large procession at my feet.
What was marching in that large procession... were chestnuts.
Perhaps they noticed me, because the chestnuts stopped their march and all turned to face me at once.
"We've been spotted, chestnut!"
"The chestnuts talked!? What are you guys!?"
"C-calm down, chestnut. We aren't suspicious chestnuts, chestnut."
No, you guys are incredibly suspicious.
"Actually, chestnut, we came here because we wanted you to eat us, chestnut. Since you eat nothing but instant food every night, chestnut."
".........Why are you chestnuts?"
"Chestnuts contain nutrients like vitamin B1, tannins, vitamin C, dietary fiber, and potassium, chestnut! If you eat us, you'll feel energized, chestnut! Come on! Dig in, chestnut!"
"Actually, I don't like chestnuts."
"Chestnuuuuut!?"
The chestnuts were shocked, collapsed on the spot, and rolled away.
