First Surprise Attack

A quiet residential area, as if everyone had vanished.
Huh? Are we doing it here?
“Kinoshita-kun! Take my first surprise attack!”
From the blind spot of the intersection, Maeda-san attacked, swinging a crowbar overhead.
I dodged it by a hair's breadth, and the crowbar she swung down hit the ground right beside me, ringing out with a loud 'Clang!' through the neighborhood.
“You ruined the surprise attack... and I like you, Kinoshita-kun.”
“...I like you, too.”
“Then don't dodge this time, okay!”
Maeda-san raised the crowbar right in front of me and swung it down toward me—.
“Hah! Haa... haa...”
I woke up just before the crowbar hit me.
My whole body was drenched in sweat.
“How was it? The taste of your first surprise attack?”
The attendant asked me.
“I asked for a first kiss.”
“It seems you misheard 'kiss' for 'surprise attack.' Hahaha!”
The attendant laughed cheerfully, completely oblivious to my feelings.
