Activity Record of the Saitama Japan-Taiwan Friendship Association (2024-25)
The Saitama Japan-Taiwan Friendship Association was established in March 2024. Since we began preparatory work in the autumn of 2023, it has already been two years.
This December, we will launch as a non-profit organization. Taking this opportunity,
we have compiled a record of our activities over the past two years.
March 2024
Held the inaugural general meeting of the Saitama Japan-Taiwan Friendship Association
May
Hosted Mr. Chen Kai-chun, a Shinto priest from Taoyuan Shrine in Taiwan, during his visit to the prefecture
June
Held the establishment convention (at Omiya Hikawa Shrine)
July
Supported the visit of National Ilan Senior Commercial Vocational High School to the prefecture (Kawagoe Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Ichibangai Shopping Street Association)
July-August
Participated in the Japan-Taiwan Exchange Summit in Tainan. Visited the National Museum of Taiwan Literature, Chiayi County, Yunlin County, and Changhua County governments. Interacted with members of the Taiwan Akashi Association, who honor Governor-General Motojiro Akashi

Held a Taiwan Literature Symposium (in Okegawa)

Held the Taiwan Literature and Sports Banner Exhibition (in Fujimi, Tokorozawa, Kawagoe, Honjo, and Hanno)
Conducted remote exchanges with Taiwan simultaneously
March 2025
Held the 2025 General Meeting (in Kazo)

Co-hosted a talk event for the Taiwanese film "Nostalgic Railway" (Kawagoe Scala-za)

Visited Zhunan Township, Su'ao Township, and the Shilin District Office in Taipei City. Visited the Taiwan Railways Corporation and the 228 Memorial Foundation. Visited New Taipei Municipal Baozhang Elementary School.

Hosted Chen Kai-chun, Chief Priest of the Taiwan Taoyuan Shrine, during his visit to the prefecture

Held the Taiwan Literature and Sports Banner Exhibition (Wako City, Warabi City, Yoshikawa City, Chichibu City, Higashimatsuyama City)

Held a talk exchange event in Warabi City with a university student who volunteered for children's support in Taiwan for one year
