Tokyo Rainbow Pride 2023
At "Tokyo Rainbow Pride 2023",
for the Day 2 Pride Parade,
it was a great honor to carry a large transgender flag
together with all my friends
and walk at the very front! 😊🏳️⚧️
When I think about it, with the restrictions and masks gone,
I was first reminded that the world has finally returned.
Being able to reunite with so many of you,
and talk for the first time in a while,
made me feel glad that I've worked so hard on my activities until now,
and in a sense, I felt more than ever before
that I am connected to you all, even when we are apart! 💞
Am I feeling lonely now? (lol)
Even those who were able to be their true selves at that venue,
just by stepping a little bit away from the venue,
they get looked back at, stared at with curiosity, and laughed at,
or whispered about.
The reality is that I actually saw that on the way home.
But I was truly healed by the SISTERS who radiate power even more dazzling than their sparkling costumes,
and by the loveliness of two people holding hands,
looking in the same direction together, and walking forward,
simply loving each other honestly.
This is also a fact.
I want this fact to reach people more.
Next year, I want to be more calm, bigger, and smiling.
And may our days until then
first and foremost be days where we can simply feel safe.
It's something I do every year, but here is my promise to keep living.
