What kind of grandmother I want to be
A hot topic lately is, "What kind of grandmother do you want to be?"
I have a clear image of the grandmother I want to become.
I want to be a famous grandmother who is like a witch. I want the neighborhood children to whisper things like, "I heard the grandmother living in that house is a witch," or "I heard she can talk to fairies."
• Fashion
I want to wear shocking pink patent leather heels. I want to wear wide-brimmed hats. I want to wear a hat almost every day.
In winter, I want to wear coats made of the heaviest fabrics possible, and wrap an animal around my neck.
I want to wear many rings on my fingers with large, toy-like jewels.
I also want to enjoy wearing brooches. I want to be a grandmother who wears primary colors, like head-to-toe pink, yellow, or red. I want to wear tough-looking sunglasses. My goal is Queen Elizabeth.
• Lifestyle
I want to bake things like scones.
I have no interest in gardening at the moment, but if there were someone to manage it, I would love to be surrounded by roses.
I want to open my house as a place that is part library and part cafe, where people can eat delicious things like chai, coffee, and sweets. If possible, I would like to run the shop on a rotating basis with the friends I have made by then.
I want to play music on records. I'm sure that when I become a grandmother, I won't be able to play instruments for long. But I want to enjoy music. So, I will play music.
• Transportation
I want to drive a convertible. Because I want to be a cool grandmother.
But in my daily life, I want to ride a bicycle in high heels.
• Personality
I want to be someone who remains humble and never forgets to be grateful. Despite being rumored to be a witch, I want to have laugh lines and be pleasant to be around.
I want to make sure I don't lose the adventurous spirit I have now. I want the feelings of excitement, sparkle, and thrill to still be with me when I am a grandmother.
I want to live the rest of my life thinking of it as a training period to get closer to the image of the grandmother I, at 21, want to become.
