COMITIA Exclusive Free Font Distribution Ended! Type Specimen with 10 Icons
As mentioned in the previous article, we were handing out cards that allowed for the download of an exclusive free font at COMITIA 152 (East 3, H37b) on June 1st. It was only available for one month, but thank you to everyone who downloaded it!
Actually, this font was a limited edition to commemorate my 23rd (Niimi) release!

Once you see the full reveal, you'll be like, 'Wow! I wanted to use that...!' right...!?
It looks like a foreign font, but I aimed for something easy to read, plump, and cute!
The hidden 'M' is so cute! I came up with the icons on the fly, but things like the paw prints were difficult.

I created this font because I wanted to type out the opening theme 'Watch me!' from Witch Watch. That was the original inspiration. At that point, my mentor told me, 'Do you want this to be a stencil? Do you want it to be a plump, indented style? I don't really get it.' Internally, I thought, 'So this is called a stencil...' (Maybe I didn't think of it as a stencil because stencils usually have a blocky image;). Since I wanted to do both, I decided to make the uppercase letters plump and the lowercase letters a rounded stencil style. I made quite a few fine adjustments until it reached version 3. It was a process of trial and error.
I actually really like the 'K', and even though I was asked many times, 'Doesn't this stand out in a bad way?', I refused to fix it until the end, saying, 'My cuteness will disappear!! No! I'm keeping it!' (Maybe one day I'll feel like fixing it...)
Everything about this opening is amazing and super cute ↓
With the pressure of having to release it in time for the event and the festive atmosphere, even though it was being handled by a proxy, I was just a zombie on the day of COMITIA...
The distribution was a mix of my usual 213-chan whimsy and some thoughts about how my free fonts are apparently being sold in China without permission, so I'm not sure what I'll do in the future.

It might be nice to add lowercase letters to the plump style too. (I've been told I should make more lowercase letters.)
Now then. What should I make next? I have to regain my passion for blackletter!!!
(Or rather, blackletter is such a high mountain to climb. But there must be letters that only I can create right now! I won't give up!)
