What Supported Me ① [Reading]
As a mother of two and a junior high school homeroom teacher,
I am Suzuran, aiming to
enjoy life freely and lightly.
This is a continuation of the "Rock Bottom Series ①-③".
The first thing I did wasreading.
This was before I was able to consult anyone.
Clutching at straws, I read every book I could find on mental control, classroom management, and more. I didn't dislike reading, but I usually only read a few books a year.
The first book that supported me was"The Magic of Verbalization".
After reading this book, I thought,I really have no choice but to consult someone.I realized that if I didn't talk to someone, I would break down. I knew for sure I would get sick.
No, it made me realize that I was already on the edge.
As written in the book, I tried things like:
・Verbalizing my feelings. Writing them down.
・Taking morning walks.
But in the end, the most effective thing was
"consulting someone."
Also,"Do what you can, within the range of what you can do"was a phrase that saved me. I wasn't satisfied with the state of my class, so I was blaming myself. I held on until the end, telling myself, "Let's do what we can, within the range of what we can do."
At times, it was written that"giving up," "quitting," or "letting go"is also necessary.
I am not good at giving up. It is true that I also thought, maybe I should quit...
If there are any teachers out there who are struggling right now, I recommend that you first "consult someone."
"Talking" is "releasing"
Exactly! Even if the situation doesn't change, just being understood makes your heart feel lighter.
(If you're okay with me, please consult me!)
Thank you for reading today as well.
