Birth Report: A Free and Easygoing Delivery
My labor started with my water breaking.
Although I was admitted to the hospital, labor didn't start, so I spent about half a day just doing as I pleased. Eventually, labor started naturally without the need for induction medication.
Regular contractions at intervals of less than 5 minutes began around 10:30 PM.
The maternity clinic where I gave birth didn't use delivery beds; instead, they had tatami rooms where you could have a freestyle birth.
This time, I found it most comfortable to be on all fours to manage the contractions, so I decided to give birth in that position.
I hadn't planned on being on all fours from the start, but when I looked it up later, I found that a characteristic of giving birth on all fours is that labor progresses very rapidly.
About two hours after I started feeling strong contractions, my baby was born at 2:41 AM.

I think I only pushed about five times.
However, because it progresses so rapidly, there is a downside: it's easier to get perineal lacerations.
During labor, you can't really think about things like that, and the best thing is to give birth in the position that feels most comfortable for you.
Being on all fours, I was happy that I could look down and see the baby immediately after birth and touch them right away.
I feel like a birth really reflects a baby's personality, so I imagine this child will be free-spirited and easygoing.
My mother used to rub my belly and say, 'I have something to do on May 11th, so please be born after that,' and the fact that the baby came out on May 10th just shows how free-spirited they are. Lol (She canceled her plans, though.)
In any case, I am truly relieved that the baby was born safely and healthily.
The baby weighed 3090g and was 47.8cm tall.
Even though it was 10 days before the due date, the baby had grown perfectly.
And I had to laugh because the baby's face looked exactly like my eldest son's during his newborn phase.

My eldest son met the baby for the first time yesterday and was a bit shy, so I'm nervous about life after we get home from the hospital.
I'll do my best as a mother of two clingy boys.
