There is no such thing as a person who is truly 'fine'
There are people who look strong.
People who are always calm,
who don't let their emotions get the better of them,
who don't complain,
and who have it all together.
People who keep a straight face,
saying "I'm fine"
while putting their own needs last,
and fulfilling their roles again today.
But you know.
In truth, everyone is waiting for warm words.
The stronger someone looks,
the more often they are trying not to show their weakness.
"I don't want to be a burden,"
"I don't want to worry anyone,"
"I'm fine with this much."
They tell themselves these things
over and over.
There is a reason they don't cry,
and there is a reason they smile.
That day,
the reason you didn't cry even though you wanted to.
The reason you said "I don't mind"
even though you were actually hurt.
Without telling anyone,
keeping it locked deep inside your heart,
you've just made it this far.
We are
surprisingly good at managing.
We can work properly,
we can smile properly,
we can respond properly,
and we can keep our daily lives running properly.
That is exactly why
people think we are "fine."
But,
looking like you are fine
and actually being fine
are not the same thing.
Even among the people you pass by,
even within that person who says nothing,
there is a heart that is quietly enduring.
The person you made eye contact with on the train,
the clerk who said "thank you"
at the register,
and that person posting cheerful things on social media.
In places we cannot see,
they are each carrying their own burdens.
We
pass through our days
without knowing the background of those things.
That is exactly why.
A casual word
or a gentle attitude
that you offer
can become someone's support
more than you might think.
Good work today.
Are you pushing yourself too hard?
Thank you for being here.
Just those few words
can sometimes
gently loosen a heart that has been stretched too thin.
Even if you meant them lightly,
for the other person,
they might be the words they have been longing to hear.
Warmth
is not a special talent.
You don't have to do anything grand.
You don't have to search for the perfect words.
Just
trying to see,
trying to notice—
that is enough.
And you know,
it's not just for someone else.
When you offer kindness,
at the same time,
your own heart warms up too.
The gaze that cares for someone else
is much softer
than the gaze that blames yourself.
The words that encourage someone else
also gently touch
the weakness within yourself.
So,
you don't have to be strong.
You don't have to be perfect.
It's okay if you can't do things right.
Just
having warmth is enough.
If today,
you are feeling a little tired,
before being kind to someone else,
I want you to be kind to yourself first.
You're doing well.
You've come this far.
You're working hard.
Directing those words
toward yourself
is also a wonderful form of warmth.
Even if they look strong,
even if they wear a calm face,
everyone is actually
waiting for warm words.
And,
you are one of them.
The fact that you have made it through today.
The efforts you have shown to no one.
The complaints you chose not to voice.
While carrying all of that,
you are still standing tall.
That alone,
is truly amazing.
Warmth,
does not have to change the world in an instant.
But,
it has the power to make someone's day,
just a little bit
softer.
Please, do not let the light within you
go out.
And,
I hope you, too,
will warm yourself by that light 🍀
