Currently devising a new project called "Toraneko Fortune-telling." *As of March 2026
Active while raising three children.
When the silence of the night gathers in the corners of the room,
I suddenly think.
What are we searching for,
that we have been walking for so long?
Outside the window, streetlights are lined up at equal intervals,
casting meaningless light onto the ground.
Perhaps someone passing under that light
carries the same emptiness as I do.
"If you keep at it for a long time, you will eventually become attractive."
I feel like someone told me that a long time ago.
Three years on a stone.
Persistence pays off.
Clutching those words like a charm,
I have made it to this day.
However,
the person reflected in the mirror
looks a little more tired than yesterday.
Can people shine
just by piling up time?
To be honest,
I am clumsy.
I misjudge the distance between myself and others,
and after saying something unnecessary, I reflect on it alone in the middle of the night.
Even at work,
while watching my colleagues work efficiently,
I can only move forward in a messy way.
I wanted to affirm myself by saying, "Because I've been doing this for a long time, this is fine."
I believed that even flaws,
if wrapped in the thin paper of passing years,
would eventually turn into a unique charm.
However,
that is a little different.
Can you become attractive if you keep doing something for a long time?
No, that's not it.
Time spent just repeating things,
sometimes numbs the heart.
Habit may take away fear,
but at the same time, it also takes away a fresh sensibility.
To become attractive,
there are actually many things
that one must learn.
That is not knowledge like what is written in textbooks.
It is learning that dares to touch
the softest and most vulnerable place
in your own heart.
Why was I
so sad at that time?
Why do that person's words
stick like a thorn and refuse to come out?
Instead of discarding your own weaknesses
as mere 'flaws',
try viewing them as a 'phenomenon'.
I think that observation
is the beginning of learning.

I,
feel a little stifled when I see perfect people.
Like a finished sculpture,
a beauty with no gaps anywhere.
That is wonderful,
but it feels like something from a distant world.
Rather,
I cannot take my eyes off someone who stumbles over their words a little while talking,
or who laughs sheepishly at their own mistakes.
Because in those 'gaps',
the reality of how that person has lived seeps through.
Showing your own weakness
takes a lot of courage.
"I can't do this."
"I'm afraid of this."
Admitting these things
is like standing on a battlefield unarmed.
However,
when you extend those trembling hands without hiding them,
I feel like you can finally connect with someone in a true sense.
Learning
is not about coating yourself in strength,
but perhaps it is the process of taking off unnecessary armor one layer at a time.
I don't think living positively
means always acting cheerful.
Even if your feet get stuck in the mud,
"Oh, the mud here is surprisingly warm,"
it is the attitude of trying to enjoy that sensation.
Even if you stand on the edge of despair,
it is the depth of one's nature to notice the beauty of the scenery visible from there.
No matter the situation,
to keep updating yourself.
Those "traces of updates"
create the layers that we call charm.

Recently,
I saw a young tree that had just been planted in a neighborhood park.
It was thin and unreliable,
with branches that looked like they would snap if a strong wind blew.
Next to it,
a great tree hundreds of years old stood towering.
The great tree is certainly attractive.
In its rugged trunk,
countless memories are carved.
However,
the sight of the young tree desperately spreading its leaves toward the sun
is just as beautiful.
Is living a long life the right answer?
Or,
is learning intensely even for a short time the right answer?
I still
cannot provide that answer.
The only thing I can say is
that we are always "incomplete."
While it may seem like you are walking toward completion,
you might actually be learning 'not to be complete'.
The true nature of the word 'charm' is
something surely no one can grasp.
It changes shape like smoke,
and changes color depending on the heart of the person looking at it.
That is precisely why
we continue to learn.
Tomorrow,
so that we can forgive ourselves just a little more than we do today.
So that we can imagine the pain of a stranger
as our own pain.
