There are haters for everything in the universe [Baki-Do Virgin #FamousQuoteNote 10]
Here is this time's famous quote!
There are haters for everything in the universe...!
森羅万象にアンチはいる…!

Even if someone says to you, 'No matter how much of a saint you are, or how much you speak the truth, there will always be people who disagree,' it feels like they are just stating the obvious, so it doesn't really strike a chord.
In contrast, how about this quote? By pairing the solemn-sounding idiom 'Shinra Bansho' (all things in the universe) with the word 'anti' (hater), which is heavily associated with internet culture, it creates a very striking sentence.
Isn't it a famous quote that could only be created because of his rich vocabulary?
Let's take a closer look at who said it!
Who said it
Gunpy
(Baki-Do / Haru to Hikoki)
What kind of person is he?
Gunpy, also known as 'Baki-Do,' was born on March 31, 1990, and is 35 years old. He is a comedian from Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture. His real name was Hiroki Yamaguchi, but he changed it to his current stage name in August 2018.

Achievements and characteristics
Activities as a comedian
He formed the comedy duo 'Haru to Hikoki' in 2017 and is mainly in charge of the 'boke' (funny man) role. His partner is Tetsuro Tsuchioka.
Legendary street interview
He became a hot topic online after saying 'Baki-Baki Dotei' (cracking virgin) during a street interview, which led to him becoming known as 'Baki-Do'.
Baki-Do Channel
His own YouTube channel, 'Baki-Do Channel,' is a popular channel with over 1.8 million subscribers.
Career
He graduated from the Department of Business Administration at Aoyama Gakuin University, where he was a member of the Rakugo Research Society. He previously worked as a full-time employee at Book Off and even served as a store manager.
This video, where he talks about his experiences during his time at Book Off, was posted in the early days of the Baki-Do Channel and has over 3 million views.
Hobbies
My hobbies are diverse, including Sanrio, visiting Ramen Jiro shops, visiting graves, and reading adult manga.

Summary
I happened to find the Baki-Do channel when they had about 100,000 subscribers, and I've been following them ever since.
As for the channel's management policy, it was mainly focused on crude dirty jokes at first, but for a long time now, they have adjusted their direction to put the "person" in the spotlight rather than the "content," so there are many videos that are very easy to watch now. *Though sometimes they still upload outrageous videos. lol
Since I am close in generation to him and his friends (I am just a little older), the videos they upload hit the mark perfectly. I watch them when I want to empty my head and not think about anything.
A few years ago, when my mental state was quite low due to a department transfer and other things, the Baki-Do channel really saved me.
Rather than whether it will be accepted by the public, the atmosphere of Gunpy-san and his friends doing what they want comes across well, and it's nice to be able to experience the feeling of when I was in junior high or high school just talking nonsense with my male friends.
Some videos that have been uploaded recently that left an impression on me are
The history of Nico Nico Douga's Oto-MADs
GameCube software
Baki-Dou, reading all of Baki!
Ghibli
and things like that. They are all perfectly in my generation.
I love the style of putting out what they like and doing it the way they want without caring at all about public reception. Especially since I'm in that generation, there are many videos that really resonate with me.
Gunpy-san seems to like Nico Nico Douga so much that he often says he "wanted to be an Oto-MAD creator," and many related videos are uploaded. Since I was into Nico Nico Douga in my early 20s, I enjoy watching them because I understand quite a bit of the material he recreates. But I wonder what it's like for people who have never used Nico Nico Douga at all. lol
Also, even if you don't know the content itself, what's important in the end is the interaction between Gunpy-san and his friends, so if a video is uploaded, I'll play it regardless of the content.
The strategy of pushing the "person" rather than the "content" is discussed on their radio show and in books. It is said that they are referring to the "pendulum theory" that Beat Takeshi once talked about.
Among the YouTube videos, there are some that only people in the inner circle would understand, like "stories about old friends from the Aoyama Gakuin Rakugo Research Society," but for some reason, they are interesting and I end up watching them. This is because, rather than the content itself, I want to watch Gunpy-san and his friends talking happily = I want to watch the "person".
*The radio show seems to have loose restrictions, and there are many scenes where they intentionally use quite gross expressions. I wouldn't really recommend it to others. I like it, though. Especially, you should definitely not listen to it while eating. lol

That said, it was on this radio show that I first heard the famous quote I'm introducing this time: "There are antis for everything in the universe". I follow the radio show because I can occasionally hear deep stories, such as Gunpi-san's conflict with his father or his philosophy as a comedian.
As you can tell from his background—graduating from Aoyama Gakuin University, being a member of the Rakugo Research Club, and being an avid reader—he is actually a very intellectual person.
Even in his YouTube videos, he uses phrasing that you might not understand at first listen, and there are many moments where I think, "He must be incredibly smart in reality."
For example, in a YouTube video, he once said, "It's a hakubi (white eyebrow), isn't it?" and while I understood from the context that it meant "amazing" or "wonderful," I didn't know that expression in the first place, so I felt his intelligence.
"Hakubi" is a term that refers to the most excellent among many things. Examples of sentences include, "His thesis was the hakubi of the class," or "Her painting can be called a masterpiece of hakubi due to her talent."
The video where he had a conversation with Otaking, Toshio Okada, was also impressive. Conversations where smart people intentionally talk about trivial things are interesting, aren't they?
He has also appeared on Toshio Okada's channel.
That said, it seems that what he personally values most is "success as a comedian," and although he has been hugely successful as a YouTuber, he seems to have his own internal conflicts.
A very intellectual person intentionally chooses the dream profession of a "comedian," and furthermore, pushes the character of a "virgin"—which is likely the thing he would least want to be known for—to the forefront, and works together with his friends to race toward stardom... Viewing it as a way of shattering existing values, it might even be called art.
Knowing all this, if you look at today's famous quote again, don't you think it leaves a slightly different impression?
There are antis for everything in the universe...!
As a fan, I would like to continue supporting him from the sidelines so that he can grasp the success he envisions for himself.
Gunpi-san has published a book. Of course, I have already purchased it. It was interesting.
Gunpi-san is actually a very avid reader. He says his favorite book is "One Hundred Years of Solitude."
It has also been adapted into a manga.
There's even a collaboration with Baki!

Hello again. My name is 'Nick.' I didn't graduate from university, but I've continued reading and have been working at a foreign-owned company for over 10 years. As an ordinary salaryman, I will introduce 'quotes that strike a chord' that I've encountered through my experience of reading over 200 books and in my daily work and life.
