Rug

I replaced my rug.
I had been using that rug for over 10 years.
Even though it was cotton and machine-washable, I hardly ever washed it.
It had become quite worn out.
I kept thinking I needed to replace it, but I couldn't bring myself to make the decision for years.

The world has become more dangerous since the attacks on Iran.
Prices will likely continue to rise even further...

"If I miss this opportunity to replace the things I've been wanting to replace, it will become even harder to do so later."

I agonized over what kind of rug would be best, while consulting with Chappy.
- Something that is fine with just a vacuum, since I rarely wash things even if they are machine-washable
- Something that can be used all year round
- It would be nice if it had soundproofing properties
I narrowed it down based on those conditions.

A green-toned, Gabbeh-style wool rug.
I finally clicked the buy button.
(I wanted a real Gabbeh, but it was over my budget.)
I wonder how many years it took me to finally click that button, haha.

And then it arrived.
I opened it, laid it out, and vacuumed it.
I knew about it from the warning label, but I was surprised by the amount of shedding, haha.
(The vacuum filter was completely full after just one pass.)

The room looks brighter!
It was brown before, so the atmosphere of the room has changed! And it's so fluffy! It feels great—because it's a purchase I made after much deliberation, I'm even happier! My heart is fluttering with excitement!
It makes my mood brighter, too!
I'll probably be battling the shedding for a while.
I'll take good care of it so I can use it for a long time!

Maybe I should start taking action on other things I've been hesitant to replace.
It's exhausting to worry about it, though.
If this kind of excitement awaits on the other side, then it's a good kind of worry, isn't it?
