What is 'Onigiri-man's' Investment Policy? (Things I find 'difficult about investing') 89
Hello.
I am 'Onigiri-man'.
('Onigiri-man' is a man approaching 60, with less than three and a half years until retirement.)
Thank you for stopping by 'Onigiri-man's' post again today.
Focusing on the content I posted in my recent post, 'What is "Onigiri-man's" Investment Policy? (Challenge 2 while verifying investment stance)' 87, under Other (Ranking of things 'Onigiri-man' finds difficult about investing), I would like to write this post.
10. Conversations with my child
10-1 What kind of life will my child lead from here on?
This spring, 'Onigiri-man's' child safely became a university student.
I felt relieved, but they have finally joined the ranks of adults.
What kind of life will my child lead from here on?
As a parent, I look forward to it, but on the other hand, I believe that building assets from a young age will surely greatly help my child's life when they reach my generation, and I also believe it will give them the next options in life. I am convinced that in the future, investing, asset formation, and asset management will be 'common sense'.
Will they graduate from university, get a job, and become a salaryman?
Or will they start a business and develop it?
I want to leave that to my child's will, but while they are working, if they ever:
1. Feel exhausted by work or human relationships, especially with bosses or colleagues
2. Encounter a situation where they are forced to end their company life
3. Find something they truly want to do
I want them to choose the path they desire without hesitation and with confidence.
I hope they don't worry about what others think or hold back.
I believe that having assets gives you courage, supports your decisions, and protects you when the time comes.
'Onigiri-man's' children, 'I want you to enjoy life freely, doing whatever you want to do.' Of course, causing trouble for others is forbidden.
10-2 "Because it will melt. I don't want it to melt."
Child: Dad, are you making a Rakuten Securities (online brokerage) and Rakuten Bank account?
🍙: Shouldn't you make one? Asset management will be important from now on.
Child: Is that so? Then I'll make one, so help me with the online application.
🍙: Shall we do it together?
1 My child diligently entered the application details on their mobile phone and finished successfully.
2 For the bank account for credit card withdrawals, we chose to have the documents sent by mail, fill in the necessary information, and return them, and the account opening process was completed successfully.
3 The link setting between Rakuten Securities (online brokerage) and Rakuten Bank was also completed successfully.
🍙: Now that the securities account is ready, we have to do some asset management.
Shall we start with the entrance celebration money you received from Grandma?
Child: ...
🍙: You're not starting?
Child: Because it will melt. I don't want it to melt.
🍙: ... Do you know the word 'melt'?
Child: I know it.
🍙: ... Wow... (So, now that the account is made, when will you start?)
Mom: Asset management is important, so you have to do it.
🍙: ...
10-3 I can understand my child's feelings too...
This is a scene from 'Onigiri-man's' family during Golden Week.
I understand my child's honest feelings. I also understand that it is natural.
I felt that they deeply understood the weight of the celebration money that Grandma in the countryside had prepared and managed to scrape together from her meager pension funds because she wanted to sincerely celebrate my child's university entrance.
While reflecting on the fact that I had said something insensitive, it was also a moment where I felt the high hurdle of starting investing, asset formation, and asset management.
11. 'Things I find difficult about investing'
11-1 Ranking of things 'Onigiri-man' finds difficult about investing
Here is the ranking announcement.
1st: Continuing to invest
2nd: Exit strategy (including buying and selling)
3rd: Starting to invest
Onigiri-man also feels thatpurchasing individual stocks is not that difficult.I plan to post about this as part of Onigiri-man's investment policy in future posts.
11-2 3rd: Starting to invest
As in my conversation with my child, even if you go to the trouble of opening a securities account, asset formation and asset management cannot begin unless you actually start investing.
What are the barriers to starting an investment?
Thinking in the 'Onigiri-man' style, the following reasons come to mind.
【What are the reasons for not being able to start investing?】
1. I'm not interested in investing. Opening an account is also a hassle.
2. I don't have enough surplus funds to start investing in the first place. (A rich person's hobby)
3. I don't want to lose money by investing. (I don't want to melt my assets. It's dangerous.)
4. I don't want to get caught in an investment scam. (There are bad people swarming around money.)
5. I don't even know what I should buy in the first place.
What do you think? Does this sound about right?
Onigiri-man can also understand these five reasons.
I think it's exactly right, and Onigiri-man feels the same way.
Overcoming these barriers is a high hurdle, and I also feel that switching your mindset to actually start investing is heavy.
Investing, asset formation, and asset management arenot things you should force yourself to do.I
hope you won't push yourself.Everyone has different ways of thinking.
Since it largely depends on changing your mindset and your way of thinking, Onigiri-man tries to consider everything as a 'trade-off'.

regarding the things you find 'difficult about investing'?
※ Sorry that the text in the table is small.
Onigiri-man has overcome the five reasons (1-5) for not being able to start investing to reach where I am today.
Also, I am starting to grasp the feeling that my asset formation and asset management are'rotating well'.I hope to accelerate this further in the future to'rotate at a high speed',and I plan to implement measures and strategies to achieve even higher rotation.
One of the big reasons Onigiri-man has been able to continue investing isthe existence of 'Rakuten Point Investing'.Because point investing is the starting point, I feel at ease even if my assets decrease, which allows me to observe the results of my investments objectively and from a bird's-eye view, creating peace of mind and room in my heart.
At the same time, I was able to gain information about investing from reliable YouTube channels, books, etc., and absorb experience and knowledge.
This can be called a major harvest.
I am still incomplete and have not reached the goal or purpose, but I feel that I am progressing through a good process. Since carelessness is the greatest enemy, I am tightening my resolve to pay maximum attention in the future.
I hope to share the details of the 2nd and 1st items in Onigiri-man's ranking of difficult things about investing in the next post.
Thank you for stopping by Onigiri-man's post again today.
Your visits are my greatest encouragement.
