Kindness [Re-post]
I am posting this again♡
If you would like,
please go ahead and read it♪
Let's be kind
Let's become kind
I am often told this
And I often use these words myself
Of course, it is important
And passing that on
I also think is important
However...
Inside me
I feel a bit of
a hazy, unsettled feeling
****
Let's be kind
Let's become kind
Who are you aiming this at?
Yourself?
The other person?
Both?
Everyone?
Let's become kind
Let's be kind
These words
If you look at it from a slightly different perspective
the way things should be
the message being sought
could also be interpreted as...
Let's be kind!
Light
peer pressure to be kind...
I wouldn't go that far, but
trying too hard to be kind
pushing yourself to be kind
wearing armor made of kindness
might you end up acting that way?
Sometimes I get a little worried...
That is,
being asked to do good deeds, to be a good person,
to be the way one ought to be,
and as if
fitting oneself into that mold...
And, without realizing it,
the purpose shifts toward
satisfying that person's need for approval...
The more you do it,
the more you find yourself unable to accept
those who don't do the same...or rather,
rather
I am becoming less kind...
Sometimes, I feel that way
****
A kind person
Let's try to be kind
Let's try to be a good person
Do good things
Bound by those words
Because I impose them on myself
What is a good person?
What is a kind person?
To me
Things that are taken for granted
To make it a matter of course
That is all I can think of it as
And
You don't have to be a good person all the time
Or a kind person all the time...
...
When it is necessary
To be able to do what is necessary
That is what I think
***
Within the relationship with oneself,
A certain person might not be kind to you
Is that person an unkind person?
However,
among the people around that person,
I think there are also people they treat kindly
Is that person a kind person?
Is a person who is not kind to you
truly an unkind person?
I think they are kind somewhere
They just didn't get along well with you
The balance of the functions
that each person possesses just became poor
That might also continue for a long time, but
It might be something that changes again
at some point in time
Each person has a different direction and scope for their kindness
It depends on roles or positions
or the tolerance level that person has
or the capabilities that person possesses
and it also differs depending on their state at that time
The kindness I possess and
the kindness the other person possesses
differ in both quantity and quality
What is the kindness we should offer?
It is to acknowledge the dignity of that person
whether they accept it by saying yes
or whether they say no and do not receive it
That person has the right to choose and assert that
And, in the same way,
I have that same right myself!
It is about acknowledging your own dignity!
****
Things that are different from oneself
are difficult to accept
The heart is shaken
and bewildered
Feeling that one's own safety is threatened
each person
is taking actions to protect themselves
at that time
Denying others
Excluding others
Retreating into one's shell
Or making one's existence disappear
I feel the world is changing into one
where these things have become easy to do
Individual respect and diversity are talked about, but
I also see and hear of communities
that become totalitarian and exclusionary
When I sense such things
I feel sad...
However,
everyone is basically
kind
and wants to be a good person
People want to be liked
I think
There is no one who is not kind
It is just that the direction of their kindness is a little different
And, myself as well
Because the kindness I think of
and the kindness the other person thinks of are a little different
we are just confused
Accepting things that are different from oneself
This is very difficult
That is precisely why
being able to accept things that are different
is very wonderful
and is a very kind thing
A tolerant heart✨
I think that is true kindness
****
Let's be kind
Let's become kind
Those words are
of course good
However
a little more specifically!
Let's have a tolerant heart!
Let's acknowledge the other person's dignity!
Let's imagine the other person's background!
Open the eyes of your heart!
Unless the person themselves realizes it
and unless the person themselves tries to change,
there are things that cannot change.
Accepting that person's way of being
just as it is
is what it means to accept them.
What I can do is,
to notice the state of myself and the other person at that moment,
and simply to re-evaluate myself and take action.
~Thoughts rambling on~
The kindness I think of is "tolerance."
By forgiving and being forgiven, tension eases, the heart is unraveled,
and a warm kindness comes to dwell within the heart.
