Winter Delights

I went out the other day.
With my usual partner, enjoying some winter fun♪

Off to Edo we go!

When we go to the city,
we call it "going to Edo."

Together with my partner,
"We should go to the ginkgo avenue at Meiji Jingu Gaien again sometime."
Several years have passed since we said that.

Let's go see this scenery this year!
That was the plan we were looking forward to.

Our schedules didn't align until December,
and because November was warm, we let our guard down.
It suddenly got cold, and when we checked the latest information,
the leaves had already fallen... Oh no!

"What should we do... should we still go...?"
Our spirits were a bit dampened, but

"Since we've come this far, let's just go anyway♪"

Not letting our feelings get the better of us, we reframed the value of going,
and tried to find something else to enjoy.

"Shall we try driving there?🚗"

Then, my partner,
"What!✨😍" Sparkle sparkle~💖

Excitement levels skyrocketed! Haha

That's right, we always take the train when we go to the city.
"It would be nice if we could go by car~"
"We want to be able to drive in the city, don't we?"

We'd say that, but since we weren't confident driving in the city,
we had given up on it, but...

"I want to be able to drive in the city, and
why don't we give it a try?✨"

We aren't confident, but if we're together, we can do it♫

That's how we changed our plans!

Once that was decided,
the ginkgo avenue
didn't really matter anymore,

Just the idea of driving through the city♡🚗
was enough to
make our excitement levels soar!✨😍

With my heart pounding in anticipation of a new challenge,
I headed to Edo with my partner, feeling excited 🎶

When I was young, I did a little bit of city driving for work.
I figured that even if I didn't know the roads, I could still drive.

Based on experience, I have a little bit of confidence in my driving.
My husband even admits, "You're a better driver than me."
"Exactly!" I said, being a rather bold driver.

My partner said that while she isn't confident in her driving,
she knows the city roads.
She said it's because she used to ride in the passenger seat and drive around the city often,
memories from her bubbly youth ♪ lol

As those memories were stirred up, we drove through the city,
chatting and laughing along the way.

When we arrived at our destination, the trees were
more bare than I had imagined...

"We were a little late, weren't we..."

We were a bit disappointed, but our goal
had already shifted to "city driving ✨"
Just being able to make it here was enough to make us feel happy 💕

We took a break and went for a walk, listening to the footsteps of winter.

Walking around, it was lovely in its own way ✨
The path was covered in a golden carpet of fallen leaves,
and we were able to enjoy it in a different way ♪

We finished looking around in no time,
and asked, "Where should we go next?" as we looked for our next destination.

"My eldest daughter's workplace is nearby,
should I go see her...?"

"That sounds great! Let's go ♪" 🚗

Unexpectedly, we were able to meet my eldest daughter ✨
She seemed a little happy to see us too ♪

We visited her workplace suddenly, but she was happy to see us,
which is the greatest reward for a mother ✨ ☺️
I was happy to see her working hard 💕

We spent our remaining time sightseeing in the city ♪

"Shall we have a graceful tea at the hotel lounge?"
"Sounds great, sounds great~✨"

I see~ So this is what it's like~✨ How lovely~💕
It's a shame I can't drink alcohol since I'm driving...

The seat we were shown to was a bit unsettling, so
in the end, we left without having our graceful tea.

It's already getting dark, so
let's go enjoy the illuminations!✨

While looking at the shops lined up here and there,
we headed to the illumination spot and waited for the lights to turn on.

Illuminations that are a bit different from usual are fun too✨

A light bite to eat before heading home♪
At a restaurant where we could view the illuminations,
I looked back on the day's fun with my partner😊

Going out to the city
Driving in the city
The comfort of the car
Ginkgo-lined streets
Illuminations
Snacks and dinner

It was a very satisfying day🩷

Doing something different than usual♪
Because we did something new,
my mind and body felt revitalized♡

My partner and I talked about that,
and felt fulfilled by the day we had♪

The hurdle for driving into the city
has lowered a little, haha♪

The city was congested, but
I didn't really mind the time.

I was able to get back home early, and
what did I do after I got back, you ask?

Well, it's our club activities🎤, of course, haha.
