You don't need to worry about being an HSP!

I woke up at 5 a.m. this morning and it feels great! I'm spending some slow, personal time drinking coffee from the morning. It's the best time!

I have written about the negative aspects I felt regarding being an HSP, but now I will write about how I have faced my own traits.

I struggled with my traits until I was in junior high school, but since then, although I am highly sensitive and prone to stress, I have been living normally.

1. People around me can tell that I am very sensitive and have good intuition!

Even if I haven't known someone for very long, I am sometimes called "nervous" or a "perfectionist," but my high sensitivity and good intuition are recognized as my traits. Therefore, even during times when the term HSP wasn't widely known, people have always understood that I am very sensitive.

However, because the way I struggle is different from other people, I am often told things like, "You don't need to worry about such small things," or "I wish you could think more simply instead of thinking so deeply." I always used to think, "I know, but I can't help it, so what can I do?" But because they understand that my way of feeling is different, they understand that I am the kind of person who struggles or cannot process things easily.

Since this has been the case since I was a child, I have always recognized and accepted that I have these traits.

Therefore, it feels like I am just sorting through information I have caught on my own, and when I can't keep up with the sorting, I get confused and have to deal with it alone.

It doesn't always happen. It happens when I'm trying to meet expectations, when I'm working hard, or when I'm under stress. It's easy to happen when I don't have peace of mind. I don't think this is specifically because I'm an HSP. When anyone fails or feels depressed, they worry about small things, worry about how others feel, think about this and that, or have their thinking stop!

The difference is the ease of feeling. It is just that Sensory Processing Sensitivity (SPS) is high.

So, I don't think I have to have the same feelings as other people. While thinking that my sensitivity is a hassle, I accept the situation each time, thinking that I've gotten messy again or that I'm confused.

2. Switching on and off

When I'm tense or working hard, my sensor sensitivity increases and I pick up a lot of information. Even if I don't want to think about it, I pick it up, so I end up having to think about it or I can't ignore it, and my own emotions get left behind.

So, I consciously block out information from the outside. I try not to look outward, try not to focus, or let my guard down. Staying in a state where I can always be relaxed. This is it. I have an on/off switch within myself.

Because I am highly sensitive, I can get healing that satisfies me from the core of my body when I touch nature, art, and the five senses. Resetting is important.

3. Awareness of boundaries

It's quite difficult with people close to me, but I am conscious of myself and the other person. It would be nice if I could do it naturally, but if I don't do it consciously, I get overwhelmed, so I try to look at the facts. By looking at the facts and giving a play-by-play, I can remain calm and objective.

What is often said is that people with low self-esteem and lack of confidence look at the other person's face and match them. As mentioned above, this is something that happens to everyone when they fail or are in a depressed mood.

In my case, it happens even if I have self-esteem. If I may say so, I have been able to handle everything skillfully since I was a child, I was good at sports and studies, I have overcome adversity, and I have parts of myself that I can affirm. I have self-esteem, but there are times when what I get through intuition is my own or the other person's, or I experience the other person's feelings as if they were my own, and complex emotions and thoughts occur instantly, and my processing capacity is exceeded. At that time, the boundary between myself and the other person is usually blurred, so I am agitated or confused. I will take time or try to organize my confusion. It feels like information is overflowing.

To avoid leaving myself behind, I am conscious of setting boundaries and reframing my emotions.

Based on my experience so far, although it can be a bit troublesome, I feel that my sensitivity and intuition are wonderful things.

When you know and accept yourself, you can do more!

That's it!
