Self-Introduction & Music Activities Summary

Hello, I'm Sumimi♪
Thank you for visiting!

I am a former Yamaha system instructor, and I currently work as a freelance musician while raising my two-and-a-half-year-old daughter at home. I continue to pursue music at my own pace, bit by bit, in between childcare duties.
Recently, my daughter has stopped taking naps, so it's become really difficult to secure time for work. However, since these are all things I want to do, I hope to continue my musical activities little by little while still cherishing the time I spend with her.
(There are many days when I can't get anything done, but I'm doing my best every day, including those times!)

This time, I'd like to give a rough introduction to the music activities I'm currently involved in🎹

🎥 Posting Performances on YouTube

I mainly post Electone performances on YouTube, featuring arrangements I've transcribed by ear.
I often choose music from my favorite anime soundtracks and video games, especially transformation sequences from shows like Pretty Cure and Sailor Moon, as well as nostalgic anime background music.

I create everything from scratch, including the sheet music, sound settings, and rhythm programming.
I try to choose songs that aren't played by many others and shape them with my own unique expression.

The videos are the transformation sequence from KimiPri and the entrance music from DisneySea♪

🎹 Custom Arrangements

I also accept custom arrangement requests, where I arrange your desired song for the Electone.
You can request them through my website or Coconala. (It's cheaper through my website as there are no sales commissions!)

I started this while I was pregnant, and before I knew it, it's been three years. I'm happy to see the number of requests gradually increasing.
I often arrange songs I wouldn't choose myself or songs I'm learning for the first time. It's very fun and rewarding to create arrangements that meet various needs (solos, ensembles, event music, choral accompaniment, etc.).
Depending on the purpose and skill level, I place importance on the balance between 'ease of playing' and 'reproducibility of the original song'.

In the YouTube playlist above, I've introduced some of the custom arrangements I've created so far!
🎹 Solo arrangements of Monster Hunter and Dragon Quest BGM, J-POP, and various others
🎹 Ensembles: 'Anpanman Rock Medley', 'Aladdin Medley'
🎹 DisneySea 'Journey to Fantasy Springs' choral accompaniment arrangement
And so on... please take a look!

🛍 Arrangements for Sale

I polish up the arrangements I've transcribed by ear and played, specifically those that don't seem to be sold elsewhere, and release them on platforms like mucome.
I focus on anime soundtracks, selecting songs that make people think, 'I've heard that! I'd like to try playing it!'
Currently, I mainly offer Electone scores, but I hope to gradually increase the number of piano scores as well.

The video is an arrangement of 'Credens Justitiam' from the popular anime 'Puella Magi Madoka Magica'. I finished it to be easy to play while recreating its hopeful atmosphere.

Once I become more popular, I plan to put more effort into this and increase the number of scores, so I would be happy if those who play the Electone or love anime would check it out!

🎧 Composition & Creative Work

I have been composing on the Electone for a while now,
but now I am learning DTM (Cubase) and gradually producing original songs.

I am challenging myself with vocal tracks, not just instrumental ones.
This is my first time trying vocal tracks, so I've opened a new dedicated YouTube channelSuuchi./Suuchi” as well.
While continuing to study DTM, I hope to improve the quality little by little by making good use of both the Electone and DTM.

Also, as a creative outlet, I freely post things other than ear-transcribed performances (for example, a video where I added an orchestra to my 0-year-old daughter's performance).

🌈 Performances & Other Activities

Since I retired from being a Yamaha instructor, and with the pandemic, I've had almost no opportunities to perform in front of people.
However, since the beginning of this year, I've been taking advantage of the valuable opportunity of recitals to gradually regain the feeling of playing on stage and the feeling of carefully performing classical music. I would like to increase my performance opportunities.

I also continue to teach lessons, and I am truly happy to be able to see my students' growth up close.

The video is the 'Candide' Overture I performed the other day♪

In Closing

I am still feeling my way through each day, but I want to move forward with what I can do, one step at a time.
