I love 'Talk Survivor' because it hits home when I'm tired
I am incredibly tired.
I just want to laugh.
When I'm like that, I want to recommend Talk Survivor.
The reason I love it is because,I get an incredible amount of power from seeing painful and sad pasts sublimated into laughter!
At first, I watched Season 1 on the train during my commute, and I was shaking with laughter, so I'm sure I looked like a suspicious person to everyone around me.
Also, recently, I was watching it late at night while breastfeeding my son (3 months old), and I was shaking with laughter, so my husband got worried, thinking I was crying.
● Plenty of extreme talk that can't be aired on terrestrial television
There is a trailer on YouTube.
A talk survival show where Chidori appears as MCs and participants.
Chidori's Daigo and the most popular comedians of the moment join a full-scale drama featuring talented actors in supporting roles. However, some parts of the drama script have no lines written, free talk zones... If the real-life episodes told by the performers in the drama are judged to be unfunny, they are immediately eliminated.
Whose episode will be the funniest? As the performers are eliminated one after another, who will be the last one standing? And what is the shocking ending of the drama!? The battle of talk for survival begins.
The topics for the free talk zones are things like,
・Stories about being hurt
・Stories about being embarrassed
・Special inside scoops
・Tales of past blunders
and so on.
Because of these topics, most of the talk is edgy and extreme, the kind that I don't think could be aired on terrestrial television.
As human beings, we naturally feel sympathy for people who have had painful or terrible experiences.
However, in Talk Survivor, they sublimate those experiences into laughter with such destructive power that you don't even have time to feel that sympathy.
In particular, Unjash's Watanabe-san in Season 2 shone with his self-deprecating talk.
Talk Survivor has Seasons 1 and 2, and parts of each are uploaded to Netflix's official YouTube.
Like Minami Minegishi's sad story from her idol days in [Season 1],
or the story of Unjash's Watanabe-san being caught by Shukan Bunshun in [Season 2],
these are still mild content.
There is plenty of even edgier, more extreme talk.
If anything, I'm almost grateful to them for talking about it that much.
● The drama content is wild, and the acting is addictive
As expected of Netflix, an incredible amount of money has been spent on the sets for the drama scenes.
Also, not only the comedians appearing, but the actors are all people whose faces and names you recognize, and there are flashy explosions and action scenes too.
Above all, the script is unpredictable from start to finish.
A high level of tension is maintained throughout.
The quality of the drama is high... yet, when the comedians play their roles, you can't help but laugh.
It's sort of addictive. I'm sure those who have already watched Talk Survivor will relate... I hope!
A part of the addictive drama scenes↓
● A show for adults where you don't have to think about anything
Anyway, every scene is worth watching.
Plus, the talk content is all stuff you can't do on terrestrial television, things you can only hear on Netflix's Talk Survivor.
I think it's a show for adults that teaches us that even though we get hurt and embarrassed in life, we can turn it into laughter.
● 'Nobuyuki Sakuma's Cunning Work Tactics' Recommended!
Finally, I want to recommend a book written by Nobuyuki Sakuma, the planner and producer of Talk Survivor, which I introduced today, called 'Nobuyuki Sakuma's Cunning Work Tactics'—it was incredibly good!
Mr. Sakuma has a fanatical following for shows like 'Goddotan' and 'Achikochi Audrey,' and he also produces dramas. He left TV Tokyo in April 2021 to become independent.
Even after going independent, he continues to produce programs for TV Tokyo.
'Why is he able to do so many things he loves?'
'Why does he have no enemies?'
'Why is he able to create such a fanatical fan base?'
'How does he manage to handle all this work without running out of ideas?'
He reveals the secrets to this in 62 items.
But even I, who do what I love for a living, always think of it as 'just work.' The reason people say I always look like I'm having fun might be because I don't treat work as an absolute, and I maintain a healthy distance between 'work and myself' and 'work associates and myself.'
The part that really saved me.
I truly felt that Mr. Sakuma is strategic, plays it safe, and has both love and respect for his work.
There's no point in lamenting the current situation, and this is a recommended book that teaches you how to put in effort and how to relax in order to create added value with 'limited time' and 'your strengths,' avoid doing useless things, be cost-effective, and achieve results without fighting unnecessarily.
Thank you for reading!
