I understand your 'desire to give back.' Words my wife gave me.
Good morning, everyone.😊
I am Sugar-sensei, an active industrial high school teacher.
Today, I would like to talk about a
small, but happy change that
happened in my family.
Actually, recently,
my wife returned to the workforce for the first time in about 10 years.
Seeing my wife working hard in a new environment every day,
I am also receiving fresh inspiration.
In the midst of that, a single remark from my wife during a casual conversation
completely embraced
my way of life up until now.
Please, take a look.
The misunderstood philosophy of 'using money for others'
I have long held a
'philosophy of money' that I cherish.
It is that,
money does not show its true value by being hoarded for oneself, but by being used for others.
That is it.
Supporting someone's challenge, or delivering gratitude to those who have helped me.
The energy released 'outward' in that way
changes form and returns to me
as value greater than before.
That is what I have experienced.
However, my wife said this
with a slightly worried look.
It's fine to do things for others, but
couldn't you use a little more
for yourself and your family?
That is an
extremely reasonable opinion for a wife who cares about her family.
It might be a
'self-indulgent philosophy' that is difficult to get others to understand.
I had thought that somewhere along the way.
What my wife realized before payday
The first payday for my wife was
approaching.
Payday is almost here.
Why don't you buy yourself a reward for all your hard work?
When I said that to her,
she replied like this.
I understand the feeling of wanting to give back to someone
with the money you earned from working,
I get it now.
The moment I heard those words,
my heart felt warm.
Connecting with society for the first time in 10 years,
creating value with her own strength, and receiving compensation.
My wife, having experienced that process,
arrived at the desire to "be of help to someone"
beyond just fulfilling herself.
That was the moment when the philosophy I have always cherished
was recognized and acknowledged
by my closest partner.
Circulating energy strengthens a family.
"Using it for others" is not
self-sacrifice.
The pure wish to see someone's happy face
or to make society better
comes back around to bring us
"inner richness" and "new connections."
The first paycheck my wife earned
through her hard work.
When that is used for the sake of someone's smile, I believe the circle of happiness in our home
expands even larger once again.
Kindness starts from the places closest to us.
"I understand now."
With those words, I was able to feel more confident
in my own beliefs than ever before.
Starting tomorrow, together with my loved ones,
I intend to continue creating "a cycle of kindness."
Thank you for your hard work, and thank you.
Cheers to my wife's new beginning!
Sugar-sensei
