SUBTEXT: I decided to sell the subtext of life, not reviews.
The world is overflowing with noisy words.
"Best value for money," "Lowest price in the industry," "4.8-star rating."
Spurred on by such hype, I click to buy, and the product arrives the next day. I open the box. It is certainly convenient. The performance is good, too.
But that is all. My life has not changed by even a millimeter.
I have simply accumulated more "things," and the empty space in my room has decreased.
I am tired of lists of specifications.
I am also fed up with soulless review articles written by people I don't even know.
That is why I decided to open my own shop.
The name is "SUBTEXT."
This is not a place to talk about functions or efficiency.
All I write about are the "stories between the lines" that flow between objects and myself.
The coffee maker that saved me from the loneliness of late nights.
The boots that became a part of me as I wore them out.
The book that affirmed me when I was nobody.
All that exists here are such "pieces of evidence of life."
[A Proposal to the Reader]
There is only one rule for this media.
"Do not write a single line that is not honest."
If it aligns with my aesthetic, I might partner with companies.
However, I will never praise a product I do not love just for the sake of money.
Because that would muddy my "subtext."
If you resonate with the stories I weave and wish to have that "subtext" in your own hands, I hope you will acquire the products through the links in the articles.
Your purchase will be the fuel that keeps this media alive and allows us to remain honest.
This is not just shopping.
It is a quiet "vote" for our aesthetic.
Welcome to SUBTEXT.
