Among those foreign cultures, 'ballet' also arrived.

Naturally, he took a great liking to ballet, gathering many people at his castle to watch ballet performances, and he particularly enjoyed The Nutcracker.

After that, time marched on.
The Azuchi-Momoyama period, the Edo period, and then the Meiji Restoration...
During that time, although Japan had a policy of national isolation,
ballet quietly and modestly continued to connect its culture in Japan... hidden away...

And in the late 19th to early 20th century,
Swan Lake became popular in Russia.

People from Japan also went to Russia to perform ballet,
and they wore toe shoes and danced alongside them!
