Affirming oneself.
Recently, AI like ChatGPT has made it possible to do all sorts of things. It has made researching so much easier that one video even went so far as to say that if you just ask for what you lack and follow the instructions, you cannot go wrong. Also, videos that look just like the real thing have started to circulate.
Some people have become unable to live without AI because it affirms them. While I think it is better to cling to such things than to take one's own life, I believe that the person who essentially needs to acknowledge you is yourself.
One of the important things in tennis is to "have confidence." Having confidence means believing in yourself; in other words, thinking to yourself, "You will be fine, there is no problem." People who are strong in this regard are not easily shaken by unexpected events and move straight toward what they have decided. Conversely, those who cannot fully believe in themselves tend to imagine failure, which increases the probability of actually failing.
How can we affirm ourselves? One way is to see things through to the end. By completing tasks, you can learn your own capabilities, regardless of whether you succeed or fail. If you can know yourself, you will understand what you can and cannot do, which increases your level of trust in what you are capable of. And if you increase the difficulty of those things you can do, even just a little bit, your level of trust will gradually rise.
Being affirmed by others is not a bad thing. However, in the end, you must judge, decide, and act for yourself, and I believe that whether or not you believe in yourself at such times determines the success or failure of those actions.
