"Crossroad -Surrendering the License of Love-" 1st Verse Released 🎶
<<Postscript>>
Shortly after I published this article, there was an earthquake with a maximum seismic intensity of 5-lower.
It seems the live concert in Omiya, Saitama, which was at a seismic intensity of 4, was temporarily interrupted, but it resumed and finished safely.
My house shook quite a bit too.
Everyone, please take care and stay safe 🙇
Today, June 16, 2026, is the Kanto finale of THE ALFEE's spring tour "Moonlight Rhapsody" at Omiya Sonic City in Saitama.
Since it could be called Takamizawa-san's hometown performance (he is from Warabi City, Saitama Prefecture), I was thinking, "It must be exciting..." as I stayed home, and then this happened!!!
The official account for the movie "Surrendering the License!?"unexpectedly released"Crossroad -Surrendering the License of Love-" 1st verse with lyricsis playing, isn't it? 😍
Just a few days ago, I wrote about wondering when THE ALFEE's 2026 new song would be unveiled for the first time ↓
I was surprised by the sudden release of the new song, and at the same time, I've been playing it on repeat like crazy lol
I suppose this time, the marketing strategy is tied to the movie 🤭
I think I'll write down myfirst impressions of hearing the new song "Crossroad -Surrendering the License of Love-"that is why I added the "#Spoiler" tag.
First, to recap what I've written so far.
The lead vocal is Takamizawa-san.
This is the first single in the 2020s that is "not a vocal by Sakurai-san."
The karaoke-style video above doesn't include the intro, but my younger child (4th grade), who is a fan of Sakazaki-san, and I were talking about how the musical style "sounds like 'Funky Cat'."
Furthermore, the lyrics I had already managed to catch, like ♪Like an intersection past midnight, and ♪Like a car before running out of gas, had an atmosphere of comparing the state of a relationship to a car.
And after listening to the first verse in its entirety...
Wow, what a heartbreaking song 💦
From the subtitle "Surrendering the License of Love," I didn't feel that much heartbreak, but it's alove song that makes you imagine two people before they break up.
From the opening line♪"Hey, we don't feel that spark lately, do we?" you said to me suddenly, my heart aches...
Since the title is "Crossroad," I had a vague image that they would cross paths and then drift apart, but the punch of the lyrics was beyond my imagination.
Especially since it's my favorite, Takamizawa-san...
I briefly thought that it might have been good even if BE∀T BOYS sang it 😅
But the fact that the current THE ALFEE is singing it is what hits the spot for me.
If the three of them were young, people would just think, "Oh, they broke up with their lover again," but releasing a love song like this at their age means... is it a setting of a middle-aged divorce? (← I'm saying something ominous lol)
After listening to this "Crossroad -Surrendering the License of Love-," the song I wanted to listen to was"Starry Sky Ceremony".
This is a love song about two people in a long-distance relationship who are about to make a decision under the starry sky they drove to.
Since they are both connected by cars, I wonder if the story will unfold in a similar way...
Takamizawa-san's recent lyrics have a sense of story, so I don't know how it will develop from the second verse onwards, but I'm curious about that too.
Is it like reading the next part of a romance novel? 😁
My younger child listened to it right away too, and what they were curious about was, "Are there two Takamys!?"
Indeed, in the opening part, even though the vocal is Takamizawa-san,the harmony also sounds like Takamizawa-san.
In the next A-melody, you can hear a different harmony properly, so only the first A-melody gave the impression of being a Takamiy solo song.
And one more thing,"The bass sound is cool!!"is something my child and I agreed on.
......This is Sakurai-san, right?
The bass sound I hear is just so pleasant.
I was drawn only to that.
And with the coupling track of this single being "Dandyism," it seems like Sakurai-san's fans will increase again 😁
Also, is Sakazaki-san playing acoustic guitar or synth drums this time?
With this musical style, both are possibilities~
I wrote just what I thought, but I'm looking forward to the new song release even more 💕
THE ALFEE's 75th single "Crossroad -Surrendering the License of Love-" will be released on August 12, 2026.
