A roundtable project where SKY Perfect JSAT employees who just can't help but talk about their favorite content discuss freely.
This time, it's a 'BTS Roundtable'! Of course, there are ARMYs among the SKY Perfect JSAT employees!!
With the countdown to everyone's discharge finally underway, SKY Perfect JSAT ARMYs who have been waiting for the sight of all seven together discuss their passionate feelings for BTS.
Five employees overflowing with love for BTS talk freely (and perhaps a bit selfishly) about their fan activities, their favorite points, and more from their own perspectives.

“I am in charge of the SKY Perfect JSAT program guide magazine. I’m a Jungkook stan.”
YS-san (Jimin stan)
“I am in charge of event planning in the content development team. I’m a Jimin stan.”

“I am in charge of corporate public relations. My bias is Taehyung (V).”

“I am in charge of 'LIVE Zoku-Zoku'. I stan both Jungkook and Yoongi.”

“I am in charge of programming for the distribution business and overseas sales for SKY Perfect Pictures. I’m a JIN stan.”
When did you become an ARMY? From your first encounter with BTS to becoming a 'hardcore fan'
――First, please tell us how you all became ARMYs.
F-san: “I wasn't interested at the time of their debut, and I was initially surprised by the group name, 'Bangtan Sonyeondan!?' I was put in charge of Korean content for work, and I happened to see their performance at a joint live concert in a small venue (Zepp Sapporo) where Bangtan appeared while I was there for a promotional event... I was shocked, thinking, 'Wow! They’re so cool!! What is this group!?' and my interest was piqued all at once. While watching BTS videos on YouTube all night at my business trip destination, by morning I was completely hooked on 'Bangtan Sonyeondan' (laughs).”
――So you saw them live at Zepp distance!
F-san: “Yes! It was standing room only, maybe about 2,000 people? K-pop fans are incredibly passionate, aren't they? Their performance was wonderful, but the fanchants from the ARMYs supporting them were also synchronized, loud, and full of energy. I was moved by the live concert and the atmosphere, which I was experiencing for the first time, and then I got even more hooked by watching them on YouTube (laughs). After that, I attended their events at Yokohama Arena several times for work, and I reaffirmed their personalities, performances, and the quality of their songs, which just accelerated my fandom!”
――Is there a song you first got hooked on?
F-san: “Maybe 'Danger'. Also, I love 'WINGS'.”

MS-san: “Nice (laughs)!”
YS-san: “I was originally an EXO fan... I found out about them because it was a hot topic that 'EXO's Baekhyun and Bangtan Sonyeondan's Tae-Tae look alike.' In reality, they don't look that much alike (laughs), but BTS was promoting 'War of Hormone' at the time, and I started to get curious from then on...” - War of Hormone' at the time, and I started to get curious from then on...”

YS-san: “When 'I NEED U' came out, it really struck a chord! My love for BTS grew rapidly.”

――Was it Tae-Tae who got you into them at first?
YS-san: “I just thought there was a cute kid... As F-san said earlier, I was wondering 'What is Bangtan Sonyeondan!?', but when I saw Taehyung (V), I thought 'He really is cute,' and then I got curious about the other members... I thought JIN-kun had a beautiful face, and Jimin-chan was cute, so I was watching them with the impression that it was a group with beautiful faces... and the final blow was 'I NEED U', which completely made me choose Jimin-chan!”
Everyone: (laughs)
F-san: “When I wasn't familiar with them at first, I recognized JIN-kun's face because of his handsomeness. I think there are many people who started with JIN-kun, right? In the beginning, I hadn't even noticed Jungkook yet (laughs).”
――Eh? Is that so?
F-san: “It was like I couldn't see the other members at all, and at the time, I even thought that only JIN-kun was handsome (laughs).”
RS-san: “And yet... everyone started as a JIN stan (please figure it out).”
Everyone: (laughs)
MS-san: “I had heard stories from F-san and YS-san... I was just like 'Hmm,' but I had to be present for a BTS interview for work... I studied them like crazy beforehand! I couldn't remember them easily, though (laughs). After that, I had opportunities to be involved with them for work at various points, but I didn't get hooked when I was working with them. I was completely hooked by 'Dynamite'! The song itself sounded like Western music, so I listened to it all the time. At the time, I told YS-san, 'Dynamite is good!', and YS-san said, 'It's coming! It's coming! You're getting closer' (laughs)”
Everyone: (laughs)
MS-san: “The one I got hooked on (from that) was 'DNA', I think?”

MS-san: “I remembered Taehyung from the interview, so Taehyung in 'Dynamite' had a bit of a 'tough guy' vibe... I thought, 'So he grew up like this,' and almost passed on him. But as I continued to look back at past videos, Taehyung in 'DNA' was incredibly cute. I was struck by the thought, 'What! He's a classic idol type!!' I then entered the training of watching 'Run BTS!' from #1, and during the COVID-19 pandemic when I couldn't meet people, I spent time looking back at BTS and became completely obsessed.”
――It's luxurious to be able to be present at an interview, isn't it?
MS-san: “Really, when I think about it now, it's luxurious.”
F-san: “At the time of this interview, we were able to get about an hour, but I heard that even a certain famous women's magazine could only get about 15 minutes, so I think the timing was good.”
―― (Looking at the content of the page) It says 'Our dream is a Tokyo Dome concert', but...
Ms. F: "Back then, they were still holding concerts and fan meetings at Yoyogi National Gymnasium."
Ms. MS: "Right, at that time, they had reached the level of filling up Yoyogi, but... they also had the motivation to perform at the 'Tokyo Dome' in Japan... Even those of us on the reporting side felt like, 'I want them to do their best, we have to spread the word more!'"
-- RS, how did you first encounter BTS and what was the trigger?
RS: "My awakening as a fan started when I liked Johnny's in elementary school, and I would go to 'Johnny's Shop' to buy photos for 150 yen each... but one day, I realized I was satisfied just buying expensive fan goods with my parents' money! There was a moment where I thought, 'What am I doing!', I reflected on it, and I quit being a fan for a while."
Everyone: "To realize that in elementary school! That's impressive (laughs)."
RS: "After that, in middle and high school, I liked Western music and was away from so-called 'fan activities,' but... when I joined a K-POP cover dance circle in college, I met an incredible ARMY, and the proselytizing began with, 'Look at this! Look at that!' and 'I went to Korea!' (laughs). When I first saw the MV for BTS's 'DOPE' while choosing a song, I encountered JIN in a lab coat (the MV costume) and thought, 'Oh! Huh? There's a cool guy!', it hit my fetish, and I spent my college years as a shallow ARMY who kept saying, 'I love JIN's part!'"
Everyone: "Ah~! The lab coat was great, wasn't it?"
RS: "Then, during the COVID-19 pandemic, a friend from middle and high school who had nothing to do with being a fan contacted me saying, 'This is bad! I think I've fallen for BTS!'... And it turned out! My friend was also a JIN fan, and since we had a lot of time at home, it added fuel to the fire, and our daily 'JIN reports' began... I spent my time trying to control my rising excitement (laughs), but suddenly, even though I should have quit being a fan in elementary school, I thought, 'Wait! I'm earning my own money now...' and I was completely sucked back into fan life! I think it was around 2020 when I became a full-fledged ARMY, involving those around me, including my mother who had no interest in K-POP."
-- It's great to have friends you can talk about it with! And everyone agreed on JIN in the lab coat.
RS: "In the 'DOPE' MV, all the members were in cosplay... Jungkook was a police officer, V was Conan (laughs). Among them, I was struck by JIN wearing a lab coat (laughs). If a different member had been wearing the lab coat at that time, that person might have become my bias!"

Everyone: (Laughter)
N: "I've also been a Johnny's fan for a long time... but my mother and younger sister were super into BTS's 'Stay Gold,' and that's how I started listening to them after they recommended it. By the way, my mother and sister are JIN fans (laughs)."
RS: "Thank you (laughs)."
N: "From there, they recommended BTS to me, and I thought their songs and performances were amazing and good, but... no, I have another bias, and I thought my heart wouldn't change. Just then, I realized that BTS's fan service was different from others, and when I started watching past videos on YouTube... my 'love' became unstoppable, and I thought I had to join the fan club as soon as possible, so I became an ARMY (laughs)."
Everyone: "We get it~"
N: "I started as a Jungkook fan, but... after that, I also became interested in SUGA, and I became a fan of both... In the end, I'm a fan of the whole group and I've bought solo albums for all seven members. My history as a fan is short, and I'm still chasing a fantasy, so I was listening while envying everyone who knows the reality."
F: "If you see the reality, you'll collapse (laughs)."
Everyone: (Laughter)
N: "I've been chasing a fantasy, so I believe I'll be able to meet them this year."
-- Is the distance between BTS and fans different from J-POP artists?
N: "BTS uses tools that allow them to interact with fans, and they create many scenes where they talk to us while enjoying it themselves! They can chat with us, and they even do live streams from their homes, so it's full of a private feel! You can really feel their desire to always care for their fans and share things with them."
Everyone: "Yeah! Yeah! That might be a factor in why fans get hooked so quickly!"
Biases and Obsessive Points
-- Next, please tell us about your biases and your obsessive points.
Everyone: "There are too many, it's difficult (laughs)."
RS: "For JIN, I really want everyone to watch 'Super Tuna'."

RS: "He's the eldest son of BTS and 'World Wide Handsome,' and he has elements that expand the group's recognition, but he's also thorough about being the funny one. Before his military service, he unveiled 'Super Tuna,' excited the fans, and released the second one right after his discharge; it's an overwhelming sense of security that exceeds fans' expectations! While many other members have performances with women in their solo MVs, he was singing with a fish, right? The range from being this beautiful to saying he'll marry a fish! With this eldest son, the other members feel secure, I can follow him for the rest of my life!"
-- (Watching the 'Super Tuna' MV) He's really putting his body on the line.
RS: "This isn't a joke, it's an official MV!"
Everyone: (Laughter)
N: "Speaking of Jungkook... there was a project in the 2019 Season's Greetings where they wrote letters to ARMYs, and there was a scene where he started crying! And the members comforted him, saying, 'You were writing it so hard.' At that time, it had already been 6 or 7 years, but he still had that purity? What beautiful tears they were... I was moved by that purity. All the members are hard workers, but... Jungkook is twice as stoic and strict with himself, and he even sheds tears of frustration just for missing one note during a live performance. That's also amazing, and I got hooked! As for my other bias, SUGA, he has a sudden kindness that he shows sometimes..."
Everyone: "We get it! We get it!"
F: "He's usually 'tsun' (cold), right?"
N: "That's right~ Even before, in 'In the SOOP,' when there was a playful conversation between Jimin and V—the '95-liners' (a term for those born in 1995)—that wasn't quite a lovers' quarrel, he would casually join the conversation and follow up in many scenes. He's someone who can show consideration without making you feel like 'I'm being considerate!'... I thought, 'That's too cool!', and I started to like him! Before I knew it, I had bought his photo book."
Everyone: (Laughter)
RS: "He's the type who would make you happy if you married him, right? He doesn't seem like he'd cheat, he boosts your self-esteem, and he feels safe."
N: "That's right! He's the most husband-material."
Everyone: "We get it! We get it!"
F: "Jungkook is, after all, the 'Golden Maknae' (perfect youngest)! He's good-looking, a good singer, a good dancer, and he can rap too! There's no flaw! If I had to name one... maybe that he's a bit bad at math? Just kidding (laughs)."
N: "He really can do anything, even in sports. It's actually harder to find things he can't do."
F: "That's really true! He's fast, he's good at drawing... he can even draw delicate pictures like a pro."
F: "These are goods with illustrations of the members' faces drawn by Jungkook. This isn't exactly 'delicate,' but it has a certain charm, right? (laughs)"
F: "Jungkook's solo song 'Euphoria' is perfect for him and is a song I really love. Even though he's a superstar active in the world, he's always humble, honest, and pure... Seeing him reflect on even small mistakes while crying sometimes makes me worry because he's too delicate. It's already the perspective of a mother watching her son (laughs). But that's probably why I want to support him. Everyone must be thinking, 'I have to support him!' both for Jungkook and for BTS."

F: "Anyway, everyone is working so hard. Jungkook is also good friends with YS's bias, Jimin."
YS: "Yes, they are good friends. Jimin's charm is... his high performance ability! Since he originally did 'contemporary dance,' his dancing is supple and truly beautiful... On the other hand, the face he shows in 'Run BTS!' sometimes looks like a kid from the countryside (laughs)."
Everyone: "Yeah! Yeah! (laughs)"
YS: "He's a spoiled brat, and he's simple... but once he stands on stage, he's amazing!! He also has sexiness, and I think his solo song 'Lie' is the best way to convey Jimin's charm."
MS: "I wonder when he became so sexy? Even though he was singing intense songs with his stomach exposed like that."
YS: "Right! His singing voice is also high-pitched and truly an angel's voice!"
F: "I was going to say 'angel's voice' for Jungkook too (laughs)."
Everyone: (Laughter)
YS: "The four vocalists each have their own merits with completely different singing voices. And speaking of dance, J-HOPE is the dance leader, right? There's also the '3J' unit."
MS: "You mean the '3J' of J-HOPE, Jimin, and Jungkook."
N: "In the behind-the-scenes videos posted on YouTube, it's great to see the backstage and practice sessions, where we can see them redoing things more times than we can imagine..."
F: "Yes, because you can see everything, their hard work and detailed efforts come across, and it makes you want to support them even more."
MS: "My bias, V, is just... his face is so good!! His good looks are obvious to anyone! Whatever he does, it's good! There's no waste in his movements, even second by second! See, I'm captivated."
F: "In live concerts, each has a solo part, and when it gets close to V's solo, the buzz in the venue increases, and it's amazing to hear screams from everywhere! (laughs)"
MS: "With his eyes (laughs)."
F: "Right (laughs). The moment 'Singularity' plays and V is shown in a close-up, everyone collapses, saying 'Kyaaaaaa' (laughs)."
RS: "When you look at V, he's so beautiful that I feel like my eyesight has improved."
MS: "He looks good in any hairstyle! His current buzz cut is also wonderful. Everything is beautiful, even his hands are beautiful."
-- By the way, around when was the V that MS likes the most?
MS: "Maybe the 'DNA' era?"
RS: "That's a good one."
MS: "I also really like the 'Magic Shop' one where he's wearing green in-ear monitors. Also, the visuals of the members during 'Pied Piper' are all beautiful and god-like. I really love this period, and I was looking at the images a lot and zooming in super close, feeling happy (laughs). 'I can see the peach fuzz!! The peach fuzz is also beautiful.'"

MS: "Even though they are this beautiful, the members themselves don't seem to care much, as they upload selfies without any editing, and they are full of gaps (like peach fuzz, arm hair, stubble, or messy hair) (laughs)."
