Episode 4 | The Chain of Kindness Residing in the Sound of Dishes
After dinner, I hear the sound of water from the kitchen.
It is the time when my wife is doing the dishes.
I always feel a sense of peace in that sound.
Even when I say, "I'll do it later,"
she smiles and says, "I'll just do it now," and gets to work.
During that time, I play with the children or soothe the baby.
That breathing room is created precisely because my wife is busy working.
I am truly always grateful for her help.
And recently, our 6-year-old son has started helping out sometimes.
Saying things like, "I'll put the dishes here," or "I'll be careful with the water,"
he stands next to his mother with his small hands.
Seeing that, I thought to myself.
My wife's kindness is truly reaching our son.
And it is growing into a "desire to give back" within him.
Doing the dishes is not just about cleaning up.
It is a quiet form of love to protect our family's time.
And that is something that will surely be passed on to the next generation.
