[Travel] From Morning Ramen to Wisteria Flowers | A Half-Day Trip in Fujieda During the Season of Fresh Greenery
It was a beautiful morning.
Just having a blue sky makes a local trip feel a little special.
I headed to Fujieda on this day.
Eating morning ramen, seeing wisteria flowers, stopping by a roadside station, and finally, a hot spring.
Looking at the plan alone, it seems simple, but sometimes this kind of half-day is just right.
There are days when you can go on a trip without having to travel far.

The morning started at 'Shina Soba Dokoro Mugi, Fujieda Branch'.
When you think of Fujieda, you think of morning ramen.
Walking through the noren curtains to eat ramen while the day has only just begun.
That alone is enough to switch on my travel mode.
The shop is a morning ramen spot located in Tanaka, Fujieda City.
According to information from the Fujieda City Tourism Association, business hours are 7:00 to 13:00, and it is closed on Mondays and the first and third Tuesdays. There is also a parking lot. The signature menu includes a set where you can enjoy both hot Shina soba and cold noodles. (Fujieda City Tourism Association)

First, a warm bowl.
Thin noodles in a clear soup.
Chashu pork, bamboo shoots, seaweed, and green onions.
It doesn't feel heavy even when eaten in the morning, and it goes down smoothly.
It's not a flashy flavor, but this is the kind of bowl you remember later.
Ah, this is a Fujieda morning.
That's how it felt.

If you order the set, you can also enjoy a cold bowl.
The chilled ramen served in a glass bowl looked refreshing just to look at.
It came with a side of wasabi, giving it a lightness somewhat reminiscent of soba noodles.
Waking up the body with a warm bowl, and feeling the season with a cold one.
It is a bit of a luxury for the morning, but if you come to Fujieda, this is a great way to enjoy it.
By the time I finished eating, my mood had completely shifted into travel mode.
Next, I am heading to Rengejiike Park.

I came to see the wisteria, but the first thing that made me stop was the pond.
Round leaves spread across the water's surface, and white flowers were blooming here and there.
As the sun began to grow stronger, the green of the leaves shone beautifully.
Rather than rushing to see only what you came for, stopping for a moment to take in the scenery you encounter along the way.
Having that kind of breathing room makes a trip feel pleasant.
Rengejiike Park is also the venue for the Fujieda Wisteria Festival.
According to the Fujieda City Tourism Association, there are about 250 wisteria trees of 20 different varieties in the park, and during the festival, there are food stalls, events, and illuminations. The 2026 Wisteria Festival is scheduled from April 18th to May 5th, held at Rengejiike Park, with free admission. (Fujieda City Tourism Association)

The wisteria on this day were nearing the end of their season.
The intensity of full bloom had passed, but when I looked up, there was still a beautiful purple remaining.
Between the blue sky and the fresh green leaves, the wisteria clusters swayed quietly.
Flowers that are nearing their end have a beauty of their own.
There weren't too many people, and those who were there—people taking photos, people walking slowly, people watching from a distance—
everyone was enjoying the wisteria in their own time.
Perhaps it is better not to explain the atmosphere of a park like this too much in words.
It was just a view that made me want to stay there for a while.

When you look closely, the color of the wisteria is not just one.
Flowers that are almost white.
Pale purple.
Purple that still retains a bit of depth.
I realized that it's not just the peak bloom that is worth seeing.
There are views that can only be seen precisely because you are a little late.
After seeing the wisteria, I bought something sweet at Starbucks and took a short break.
Eating morning ramen, looking at flowers, and drinking something sweet.
Each one is a small thing, but when you put them together, it really feels like a holiday.
After that, I headed to Michi-no-Eki Yutorie Setoya.
It was a clean, newly built roadside station, and the building still felt fresh.
The official website for Michi-no-Eki Yutorie Setoya introduces a pottery experience facility, a local produce market, a cafe, and Setoya Onsen Yuraku. The pottery facility is open from 9:00 to 17:00, the market from 8:00 to 16:00, the cafe from 10:00 to 16:00, and Setoya Onsen Yuraku from 9:00 to 21:00. All are closed on Mondays, or the following weekday if Monday is a holiday.(Michi-no-Eki Yutorie Setoya)
A roadside station changes the flow of your day just by stopping by for a little while during your trip.
Looking at local vegetables, browsing specialty products, or just resting for a bit.
Even if you don't buy anything, it's a place where you can get a glimpse of the local atmosphere.
This time it was just a short stop, but if I were to explore the Setoya area slowly, it seemed like a good place to start.
And finally, I went to the adjacent Setoya Onsen Yuraku.
Eating from the morning, walking around, and the weather becoming warm enough to break a sweat.
Taking a bath there makes the half-day trip feel like a proper holiday.
The official website for Setoya Onsen Yuraku states that the admission fee is 650 yen for adults and 300 yen for children, for up to 3 hours.
A hot spring is not just about the time you spend inside, but also the time after you come out.
A body that feels a little lighter.
The breeze on the way back to the car.
The fresh green leaves catching my eye.
On this day, the fresh greenery was truly beautiful.
Starting with morning ramen, seeing wisteria flowers, stopping at a roadside station, and finishing with a hot spring.
I didn't go far away.
But just by moving around a little from the morning, the day feels long.
It's not a grand journey, but a day like this is also quite nice.
I felt like I wanted to wander through Fujieda again when the season changes.
