I went to get a haircut for the first time in a while.
I'm not a fan of going to hair salons either.

If I could, I'd go my whole life without ever going, but that's not really an option. Because I have so much hair, it becomes impossible to manage once it grows out.

And it's not just that I have a lot of it; each strand is thick, too.
Have you ever had a strand of hair pierce your finger? I've had it happen about three times in the past. What am I, GeGeGe no Kitaro?

...So, I sit in the salon chair.
In times like these, I never know what to ask for. I don't want a celebrity hairstyle, and given my hair type, it wouldn't turn out that way anyway.

Also, given my personality, I don't like making qualitative requests like "a bit longer" or "a bit shorter." There's no definition for how much is "longer" or "shorter," and it's not something that's shared. And if I say "leave it up to you," the stylist would probably be troubled, and conversely, having them suggest this and that is a hassle.

So, when I first used this salon, I ended up making the awkward request to "cut off about 1cm." I had heard that human hair grows an average of 0.3mm to 0.4mm per day, or about 1cm per month, so I'm sure the stylist must have been smiling bitterly (so I wouldn't see it in the mirror).

Having said that the first time, it would be annoying to change my order halfway through. So, I've stubbornly insisted on "1cm" ever since.

However, it feels like they've cut off more than "1cm" no matter how you look at it.
It's been over two months since my last haircut, so technically, if they cut 2cm, it should return to its original state, but my current hairstyle is the same as it was two months ago (probably...).

Well, it's fine, though.
