If wishes could come true. It might not be a very adult way of thinking.
People might tell me that's impossible.
I'm often asked, "If there were no restrictions and anything could come true, what would you wish for?"
But I didn't think of anything right away... I thought, maybe I don't really have one.
The other day, it suddenly hit me, and I thought, this is it:
To freely travel back and forth across time and geography.
That's just the world of Doraemon.
It's not that I'm into sci-fi (though I do like Doraemon).
In all seriousness, first I want to travel back to the time I lived with my grandparents.
I want to ask my grandparents how they see me now, and I want them to meet their great-grandchildren.
Also, I want to see Elizabeth I (the queen from the Shakespearean era) up close.
What kind of person was she, I wonder?
When I watched the movie "If Tokugawa Ieyasu Were Prime Minister," I just laughed and thought, what is this? But now I think it's close to the world I want to realize.
I also want to travel back to my high school and college days, which were nothing but fun.
It's not simply that I want to "go back."
There's a part of me that wants to experience it again, but I don't want to lose my current sense of self either.
What I'm unsure about is whether I would exist as my current self.
Or if my current self would experience my past self.
And what would I do in old England or the Edo period (become an invisible person?).
Actually, it's something I'm already doing in my head.
Before I know it, I've flown back to the past in my mind, and I listen to people with a similar feeling even when I'm conducting interviews.
But as for the day it comes true in reality... I suppose that won't happen while I'm still alive.
