20250731 "Each Perspective"

Closing my eyes
what comes into view
is something from some time ago
it is hazy
though not clearly defined
feeling it somewhere
replaying a different memory
even if it is a selfish ambiguity
if I am fine with that
then so it shall be
and it will be etched once more
a training in recursion
an illusory hope
that I certainly held
a blurring of sensation

In the middle of the turned page
it has completely fallen out
forgetting even what came before and after the blank space
where and how was I
it must have been me all along
but I have fallen so deeply into oblivion
that I cannot even recall it
the errors projected and layered onto the present
if I accept that as being me too
then even other memories are mine
sharing some of them
we, somewhere that no one knows
in the moment we passed each other
remembering while forgetting
when was it that I cried

Taking a momentary detour
passing through that gesture
capturing the angle of view with a different lens
in a frame that should have been familiar
my own self and someone's smile
even someone I do not know
is included in my field of vision
we overlap each other from different perspectives
with each of our gazes
our intertwined existence
being seen and watching
passing through the before and after of it
appearing, swaying, and floating up
fixing the ripples of anchorage
everyone possesses the suspended images
