Unexpectedly Sweaty Potato Digging [And My Eldest Daughter, Why...] | 3-Line Diary
During this three-day weekend, I went to a local potato digging event.
I had intended to just watch over the children, but there weren't many participants, so a local resident suddenly asked me, 'Oh, Dad, could you use a shovel to dig around the edges?' I was tasked with quite a bit of heavy lifting and ended up drenched in sweat without even a towel.
Even so, it was a wonderful experience to help the local children enjoy digging for potatoes... but when I glanced over, my eldest daughter was looking at a house centipede she had placed on her shovel, and later she was looking at some kind of larva she had placed on her shovel. I thought, 'My eldest daughter, why...' (She said they were cute.)

PS
I wonder if I should have supported my eldest daughter a bit more... I really wanted to dig with her... orz
That said, I had been asked to do heavy labor, and since the equation 'unexpected & hot & sweaty = panic attack' is easily formed, I was doing the best I could myself.
I focused my thoughts and actions on 'digging with a smile for the sake of the children' and did my best.
It was a relief that my eldest daughter said she had fun after it was over.
(Meanwhile, my second daughter was happily digging away with my wife, saying things like, 'What is this, I'm so confused, hmph!')
