Even with Generative AI, History Cannot Be Changed.

"With generative AI, anything becomes possible"—there are many voices saying that. Certainly, I believe the future will change significantly due to the new ideas and efficiencies that AI creates. However, there are things that cannot be changed.

That is "history."

No matter how excellent or cutting-edge the AI you use, you cannot make those times you want to get back or the memories of regret disappear. (In the near future, it might be possible to tamper with memories, but let's not touch on that.)

History and the past are realms that must be accepted as "human." For example, you can get hints from AI to avoid repeating past mistakes, but you cannot overwrite the mistakes themselves.

That is precisely why there is meaning in using AI to change the future. While building upon history and the past, how do we optimize our future actions? How do we avoid making mistakes? That is where the true value of generative AI lies.

A means to turn even reflection and regret into fuel for what comes next. I think that is what generative AI is.
