Diary | April Scenery
When school lunches start at elementary school,
I feel like 'daily life' has finally returned.
That's the feeling I get.
For me, it's a routine to go to the acupuncture clinic I frequent
after this first day of school lunches.
It's a place that fine-tunes me back to my 'proper position' and 'center'—
where my body relaxes, my breathing deepens,
and I can sleep soundly.
It's my habit of letting my body know,
'Yes, this is the dividing line between spring break and daily life.'
In the work titled "Itoshiki Mono" (Beloved Things) by my favorite author, Ito Ogawa,
I call the boundary where one work smoothly leaves my hands and I welcome the next one, a 'transitional period'.
was written.
I really love this expression.
Ito-san said that by traveling, she clears her heart like a vacant lot,
but when I thought about how I could experience this feeling in my current life,
the answer was acupuncture.
Imagining the sensations that someone I admire might be feeling,
and adapting them to fit my own life.
I find these days very precious.

Weekend.
This morning, freshly cooked rice and miso soup,
natto, and rolled omelet.
My desire to savor a simple menu grew,
so I cooked rice in an earthenware pot.
Yesterday, for the first time in a while, Mom lost her temper,
we had a thorough talk, took a bath together,
and drank Calpis with strawberries floating in it.
It wasn't just about apologizing on the spot,
but a state where I've passed the ball to her, saying, 'Think about what would be good to do from here on.'
While eating, she listened to Dad's opinion,
and seemed to be deepening her thoughts, saying things like, 'I thought about it this way.'
I love this time.
Do your best, my daughter.
Lots to do today as well.
Let's eat heartily and do our best!!
