How my neglected X account surpassed 1,100 followers after getting a blue badge
Actually, the other day, I completely changed the direction of my X (formerly Twitter) account. It was originally a dedicated "camping account." Nothing but outdoor stuff, like bonfires and lanterns.
But one day, on a whim, I decided to mix in some posts about "note strategies."
...The result was a massive sense of being out of place.
It felt as awkward as "someone starting a sales pitch in a suit at a campsite."
I mean, I was writing it seriously, but even when I read it myself, I was like, "Who are you?" (laughs)
This was clearly confusing my followers and confusing me as well. So, I made a clean decision: "Time for a change of direction!"
I wiped my profile and posting policy clean, just like bonfire ash...
No, that's not quite right. To be precise, I left the camping account as it was and dug up another account I had basically abandoned.
It was something I hadn't even logged into for years.
It had about 100 followers, half of whom were like ghosts.
But I forcibly woke it up, saying, "From today, you're my note broadcasting base!"
I feel bad for the account having its purpose changed so suddenly (laughs), but thanks to that, I was able to neatly separate camping and note.
I was finally freed from the chaos where "bonfires" and "note monetization" lived together.
I think this was the right move for my mental health and for avoiding reader confusion.

✅️ The project to revive a zombie account with 100 followers
To be honest, I had left this account neglected for a long time.
The follower count was just over 100. Since I hadn't moved it for years, it was basically a zombie.
The moment I logged in, I was even moved, thinking, "Are you still alive?" (Just kidding)
From there, I nervously resumed posting. Then, followers gradually increased to about 250.
"Oh, it grows if I put in the effort!" I thought, getting carried away... but then growth slowed down.
It felt like a zombie that took one step with a "groan" and then froze in place.
Come on, move, my account. At least take one more step.
That unstable state continued for a while.
✅️ The blue badge, the decision to pay
While staring at the zombie account frozen at 250 followers, I thought,
"Is it going to rot away like this? Or... should I pay?"
Yes, the blue badge.
The moment I saw the price on the screen, I blurted out, "Wait, seriously?"
Saying "Seriously?" in an empty room. I was completely that guy talking to himself.
But in the end, with a mysterious jock-like attitude of "It's an investment!", I clicked it.
And the day after I paid, impressions jumped up.
"Oh, it really works!" I was super hyped.
...But it settled down after a few days.
Hey blue badge, are you me in gym class who sprints at the start and then walks immediately after?
However, strangely, the pressure of "I paid for this, so I have to do it" always remained.
In the end, what I bought wasn't an account upgrade, but my own motivation switch.
The thing that changed the most with the payment wasn't the account, but my mentality.
✅ Result: Surpassed 1,100 followers
After getting the blue badge, I braced myself, thinking, "There's no turning back now," and kept posting. The result...
From a neglected account with just over 100 followers → slowly restarting to 250 → and now, I've surpassed 1,100.
Of course, this isn't just the power of the blue badge.
Daily posts, trial and error, and the occasional face-plant (← actually, there's more of that).
It feels like I've finally reached this point after piling up so many things.
Numbers aren't everything. I know that.
But when I see "1,100 followers" on my smartphone, I can't help but grin.
Even while telling myself, "Hey, don't get carried away by the numbers," my motivation is through the roof.
In short, the conclusion: Numbers are the candy, effort is the whip.
1,100 is the result of experiencing both.
✅ Things I realized
After trying various things this time, these are the three things I felt strongly.
Even neglected accounts can be revived
Even if it's like a zombie, it can come back to life. Accounts are resilient. The problem is the owner's motivation. If you separate genres, neither the readers nor you will get confused
If I shout "Note strategy!" on a camping account, of course the readers will be confused, thinking, "Wait, which is it?"
I myself also had an identity crisis, wondering, "Am I a camper? A writer?"X responds when you use it properly
This is really true. If you slack off, you get ignored; if you act, you get a reaction.
In short, X is a mirror. Well, a mirror that makes you look a bit chubby, but still.
These might seem obvious, but they were all things that didn't hit home until I actually tried them.
✅ Summary
Even an account that had been gathering dust for several years can, if properly organized and actively managed... lead to over 1,100 people following you before you know it. Honestly, this is a huge confidence booster for me.
However!
I won't write the specific methods of how I grew my followers here.
Because... if I wrote it all down, this article would be as thick as a phone book. (Seriously, who would read such a long text?)
"Why was I able to grow it?" "What exactly did I do?"
I will summarize those parts, including tips and pitfalls, in a separate paid article.
So, the conclusion this time is simple.
Accounts can be revived even if they are dead. However, there is a secret trick to reviving them.
And that secret trick is... still a secret here.
Thank you for reading until the end!
I hope this provides even a little bit of a hint for those who are thinking, "I want to revive my old account" or "I'm confused about how to link Note and X."
"How exactly did you grow your followers?"
If you're curious, I'll explain it thoroughly in the paid article.
I'll write about everything, including the failures I actually made and how I got out of them, so please check it out in the next article. ↓
