[Marriage (Provisional)] I went to hear about solo weddings
It seems the full moon in June was just past 10:00 AM on June 22nd. Around that time, I was heading to a photo studio in Tokyo. I decided to go and hear about solo weddings, something I had been interested in for a while.
A full moon represents purification. Normally, this is a time to reflect on one's wishes, so it might not be the best time to make dreams come true, but if I were to worry about things like that, I wouldn't be able to do anything. Without thinking about such things, I arrived at the meeting place.
Phase 1
There was someone at the reception, so I identified myself, saying, "I'm [Name], and I had a counseling session scheduled for [Time]." I was then guided to an empty seat and prompted to fill out a counseling sheet. After about five minutes, a female staff member stood at the seat next to me and greeted me.
"I'm [Name], your consultant."
Saying that, she sat in the empty seat. She took a quick look at the counseling sheet I had already filled out and proceeded with the conversation.
"So, a solo wedding."
Perhaps it's quite common, as she said it so casually.
"Yes..."
"You're planning for September... It's not that busy right now, so it should be fine."
Hearing that, I felt relieved. It's still a while away, so it's fine, she said.
"Now, may I explain the pricing?"
At that photo studio, it seems there are two courses for having a solo wedding (there are more, but I'll skip them for now). In my case, I wasn't considering traditional Japanese attire, so it was just for a dress, which is probably why it turned out that way...
The consultant, perhaps understanding that, explained the dress course.
"For this 19,800 yen course, there are two spots left... As a condition, since it's a campaign course, you would need to have it posted on social media and the like."
"......Does that apply even if I'm marrying my 'oshi' (favorite character/idol)?"
"Yes. We would also include your 'oshi' as a subject for the shoot."
......At that moment, I thought to myself, "That's a no-go..." No matter how virtual it is, I don't have the courage to reveal my 'oshi' to the public. This course is definitely for people marrying someone from a completely different dimension.
In my head, a note from someone who had experienced this in the past came to mind.
......I realized that it's probably a course for people like them.
My 'oshi' is from the same dimension, but in reality, they are married, so I can only marry them in my delusions, virtually. If I'm not careful, it could end up as bigamy, so I have no choice but to brush it off by saying, "This is just for fun!" and escape. But it is a fact that I love my 'oshi,' so I won't deny that. No, I have absolutely no intention of denying it.
"In that case, you would prefer this 39,000 yen course."
The consultant said that and explained it to me.
O b v i o u s l y . Otherwise, I would die.
Hair, makeup, and accessories are included in the course, but the bridal innerwear worn directly under the dress is a separate charge. Well, even though the COVID-19 pandemic has passed, people have become sensitive about hygiene (like sweat).
Anyway, the first phase was completed safely.
"In that case, shall we take a look at the dresses?"
The consultant said that, and while telling me to "please wait a moment," she handed me cloth gloves. I put them on and waited, and then I was guided to the dress room.
Phase 2
When I was guided to the dress room, white wedding dresses were lined up on the right, and colored dresses on the left.
"......Beautiful."
As I said that, entranced, the consultant asked, "How about this dress?"
I mainly chose strapless types. I have a complex about my chest, so I wanted to avoid anything that emphasized it, and she chose dresses for me with that in mind.
Before I knew it, I had chosen three dresses.
It seems there are ranks for each course (correctly, Course B, Course A, and Course S). Is this a coincidence, or fate?
After a while, I was guided to the fitting room. Then, I tried on the dresses I had chosen, and she took pictures for me (I'm not good at selfies, so I asked the consultant). Then, I checked which one suited me, but I was torn between two, so I left it on hold.
And finally, I asked for a quote as a final check.
The price difference between the two dresses is 33,000 yen. I have to think about how to handle this from here on out. I still had time, so I decided to think about it carefully (maybe until around mid-July?).
Finally, she told me how to handle it if I had any questions I wanted to ask again. I decided that once I made up my mind and chose the costume and course, I would contact them as soon as possible. She also told me that if I wanted to have another counseling session, I should consult with them via LINE beforehand.
Anyway, I just wanted to hear the story. And I wanted time to think about how I wanted to portray it.
I felt glad that I was able to hear about the solo wedding I had been thinking about in my head in real life. I felt that if you have an interest, you should just take action.
