I want to create a society where children can be happy
Good morning.
Since I reached my 100th consecutive day of posting on note the other day,
I have been wondering, "What is it that I want to do on note?"
Even after thinking about this and that, I couldn't find a single "core" to describe it, and I kept thinking about it.
In the midst of that, while I was reading "Children are a Worry" by Professor Takeshi Yoro,
What I hope for in education is simply that I want a society created where children can be happy.
I found that sentence and thought, "This is it!"
Not just "education",
・Both parents and children being healthy in mind and body
・People who will have children in the future being able to look forward to becoming parents
・Social systems being kind to children
・Having a broad perspective
・Increasing the amount of fun time
・Ensuring not a single child commits suicide
This is my wish.
When I was in junior high school, I thought about "wanting to die" several times.
By the time I was in second grade, I was already unable to keep up with my studies.
I was overweight since I was a preschooler, and I was also bad at physical education.
I was being bullied.
I couldn't do my best in studies or club activities, and I hated school so much.
It was the golden age of the 'kogal' subculture, but I was raised in a household where dyed hair and piercings were forbidden, so I never went in that direction.
I couldn't become a nerd, nor could I become a delinquent.
I was a child who was only happy when watching SMAP videos alone in my room at home.
I didn't have a boyfriend,
and I wasn't particularly good at anything.
I didn't have a 'dream for the future' either.
I didn't feel like I could live on my own as an adult,
but I also didn't feel like I could get 'married' to become a full-time housewife.
'There is nothing but despair'
I truly thought that.
Even so, supported by my family and SMAP, I managed to survive by occasionally skipping school to keep my balance.
After entering high school, I had the experience of 'working and earning money' through a part-time job,
and after entering junior college, I encountered a book called 'A Book for Becoming an Adult'.
By reading books, my world began to expand.
Even so, I think it was trulya fine line.
Not 'endurance,' 'patience,' or 'effort,' but 'fun is number one!'
In such a world, learning happily, growing happily,
and working happily even after becoming a member of society.
To enjoy raising children even after becoming a parent.
I want it to become that kind of society.
If education changes, the way children live will change, and
if the way children live changes, society will eventually change.
For that purpose, what I can do as a parent,
what I can do as a working adult,
and as a person who "tries everything"
I would like to continue writing on note.
I am sorry if I made you feel gloomy from the morning.
If there is anyone who feels "painful" like I used to,
I would like you to make time and take a slow walk through a large bookstore.
And, if you are interested, I hope you will also read "Worried About Children".
Thank you very much for reading until the end.
As of 4:52, it is a bright morning with the sun fully out.
