Glamping at MOSS Jūrigi Camp Resort Part 2
I went on my first-ever glamping trip!
Our destination was MOSS Jūrigi Resort Camp in Susono City, Shizuoka Prefecture.
The last post was about the journey there, but from here on, it's all about the glamping trip itself.

A well-equipped administration building
We checked in right away at the administration building.
What's amazing about this facility is that they have a great selection of rental items!
Board games, cold-weather gear like hot water bottles and blankets, lanterns, and more.

And, something I personally found incredibly helpful was the Crocs!!
The dome tent and BBQ space are in separate areas, so it's a hassle to keep putting on sneakers.
They come in sizes 22cm, 26cm, and 28cm, so it's convenient to borrow them if you're elementary school age or older.

And then, the drink bar corner!!
Soft drinks are all-you-can-drink while the administration building is open (until 10 PM at night, and from 7 AM in the morning).
*Coffee is only available in the afternoon.

Believe it or not, alcohol is also all-you-can-drink from 5 PM to 8 PM.
It's fine to pour it into a glass and take it back to your room.
They even said it's okay to put it in your own personal water bottle!

The kids were super excited about the all-you-can-drink juice.
Besides that, there were plenty of things for children to enjoy, such as picture books, coloring books, and spot-the-difference puzzles.
Also, I forgot to take a picture, but the administration building has a "Vegetable Marche" where you can take as much fresh local produce as you like to grill and eat at your BBQ.
We wrapped garlic, onions, and potatoes in foil to roast them whole, and it was delicious.
The Room
We received our key and headed straight to the dome tent!

The left side of the wooden deck is the dome tent, and the right side is the BBQ space.
There's a roof and curtains, so you don't have to worry even on rainy days.
There is also a restroom inside each BBQ space.
Depending on the facility, you sometimes have to share, so this is really helpful.
There are also chairs and a table at the back of the BBQ space.
When I opened the curtains of the dome tent, nature with all its leaves fallen was right there.
There is a good distance between the other dome tents, and the positioning is so exquisite that you cannot see each other.

There are four single beds on the door side.
As you can see on the right side of the photo, it is comfortable because it is fully air-conditioned.
Under the air conditioner, there are tissues, a lantern, coffee, a refrigerator (with three 500ml bottles of water inside), a kettle, a hair dryer, and a small mirror.
On the hanger rack, a set of bath towels and a bag for carrying things to the bath were also provided.
Razors, combs, toothbrushes, etc., are provided at the management building only for those who want them.
With this much provided, the only difference from a hotel in terms of facilities and amenities is whether or not pajamas are included.

You can see the terrace from inside the tent.

The restroom inside the BBQ space looks like this.
The hand washing and vanity area are also here.

It is a compact but clean restroom.
The lights turn on automatically, and the heater is always running, so it is surprisingly warm even at night or early in the morning.

There is a stove in the BBQ space, and the table was a kotatsu.

The BBQ is done with this cool gas grill.
Cooking was very easy and comfortable.

You go to the management building to pick up the set of ingredients for dinner.
The website said they are handed out from 5:00 PM, but perhaps because it is winter, we were able to pick them up from 4:00 PM on this day.
Our family goes to bed early, so we started the BBQ right at 4:00 PM.
The kids were also delighted by the kind staff.
While the BBQ was being prepared, the kids played outside the whole time.

While playing in the open space, you naturally start a conversation with one of the staff members.
It was a very warm day with a high of 20 degrees Celsius, but I heard that the previous weekend, the temperature was 2 degrees at 3:00 PM.
Since the altitude is high, a jacket is essential even in midsummer.
It seems that snow accumulates easily after the New Year holidays, making it dangerous to drive with normal tires.
Being able to have casual conversations like this is a unique benefit of small-scale glamping.
Before I knew it, my eldest son was playing soccer with the staff member.
What a kind person! ( *´艸`) I'm so grateful!!

I forgot to take pictures of the main BBQ, but it was very filling, and the food for three people was just right for the four of us to share.
The steak, pickles, and roasted vegetables were especially delicious!
The rice and soup are already prepared and kept in insulated containers, so you just need to transfer them.
If you run out of tableware or plates, you can borrow them from the administration building (free for those on a meal plan).
A bonfire where you can also enjoy s'mores.
From 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, a bonfire is held in the open space in front of the administration building!
Bonfire sets are available for rent, so you can have a bonfire in front of your own tent, but since our tent was right in front of the administration building, we joined the bonfire in the open space.

You can get marshmallows at the administration building.
They seem to be skewers specifically for s'mores, and they are extendable, so it was comfortable to roast them at a proper distance.

If you were camping with friends, the conversation would likely get lively around the bonfire, but with children, they would probably say they're bored right away (^_^;)
I was grateful that it was held at the administration building.
The marshmallows were delicious too ♡

Private hot spring
After the bonfire, we went to the private hot spring.
The hot spring is located about a one-minute walk from the administration building.
There are four hot spring areas, A through D, and each tent gets one hour.
(No extra charge)
You make a reservation when you check in, so if you want to choose a specific time, it's better to check in early.

When you open the door, there is a changing room first.
It is quite spacious.

It looks like a residential bathroom, but even adults can stretch their legs out in it, and since it's a hot spring, it felt great.
There is a terrace beyond the window.
It is well-enclosed and designed so that it cannot be seen from the outside, so it might be nice to go out and cool off in the summer.

Stargazing
After our bath, we did some stargazing on the wood deck.
When I inquired in advance, they said they also rent out binoculars, so we borrowed some (you should probably ask, as there are likely only a few available).
It was fun to see the patterns on the moon so clearly.

Playing in the room
After stargazing, we played with the board games we borrowed.
Don't Break the Ice and
Blokus
The results were in order of age: 1st place Dad, 2nd place me, 3rd place eldest son, 4th place second son
(^_^;)

Since it was the first time the four of us in the family played Blokus against each other, I thought, "I want to play one more time!" butthe kids said, "It's already night, so of course we're going to sleep!" and headed straight to bed.
Regularity without exception (lol)
As the president of the Sleep First Association, it's hard to say this (lol), but
it was such a fun night that it felt like a waste to sleep.

We were told that while we were sleeping, the staff would collect and wash the dishes we had left scattered from dinner.
(We put them in a designated box)
I am truly grateful for everything.
By this time, I had become such a big fan that I already felt like "one night just isn't enough."
Day 2 continues here
Thank you for reading until the end.
I hope you have a wonderful day today too ☆彡
