The Day My Standard Becomes the World’s

When I was a child, I remember watching an episode of Doraemon that left a deep impression on me.
I don’t remember the exact name of the gadget,
but the story went like this:

Nobita, who always struggled to fly his kite, uses a tool that suddenly changes the rules.
In that new world, kites are meant to be dragged along the ground—not flown.
And just like that, Nobita becomes a master in this altered reality.

I remember thinking:

“I want a gadget that makes the way I do things the new standard.”

Years later, as an adult, I remembered that feeling—
and questioned myself:

“Was that a low-level desire?”
“Was I just trying to avoid effort?”
“Was it just wishful thinking to be praised without having to change?”

But now I see it differently.

That wasn’t escapism.
It was the seed of something deeper—
the core desire of a creator.

It wasn’t about being recognized for no reason.
It was about this:

“What if the thing I’m doing—exactly as I do it—isn’t wrong?
What if the world just hasn’t caught up yet?”

Isn’t that what art is?

To create something that doesn’t fit the current rules—
but redefines them.

To offer a rhythm, a sound, a way of being
that says:

“This is valid. This is real. This is worth listening to.”

What if what I’ve been doing all along
wasn’t off-track,
but simply early?

What if my “failure” was just a future waiting to be recognized?

Through sound, I’ve started to sense it.
The quiet confidence.
The shift in how people respond.
The feeling that maybe—just maybe—

My standard is becoming the world’s.

Not through a gadget.
Not through force.
But through one honest note at a time.
