Memories of BAROOM
The space known as BAROOM holds a special meaning for me.
It all started at a party hosted by DJ Yabe at Foggy in Kumegawa.
Tadashi Yabe's DJ set, and a live performance by the SINSUKE FUJIEDA GROUP.
We met there, and he liked our live performance,
so I gave him our CD and the 7-inch record I had released through Okura-jirushi.
Since then, he began playing our songs at venues many times.
A while later, Yabe-san invited me to an experimental party at BAROOM.
The other performers besides us were TAKUYA NAKAMURA and DJ Tadashi Yabe.
The acoustics of BAROOM, the space, and Yabe-san's music selection.
Everything was wonderful and fit my tastes perfectly.
Yabe-san's DJing had depth and warmth.
And above all, that soft kindness,
and the gaze filled with respect for me, I will never forget.
After the show ended that night, in the dressing room at BAROOM,
I still vividly remember the sight of Yabe-san sitting alone in a chair,
quietly relaxing for just a moment.
After that, Yabe-san passed away suddenly.
I couldn't believe it was real.
But that gaze and those sounds are truly alive within me.
And today, July 2025.
The day has come to create a sold-out scene at BAROOM with our own live performance.
To the door that Yabe-san opened for me back then,
I am responding with my own sound.
