The 3 items a minimalist who loves things does not minimize
A minimalist who loves things.
I pride myself on that, and I even wrote a book that compiled my favorite things.
That said...
If I were to increase any of them indiscriminately, that would not be a "minimalist" to me.
If I increase my possessions beyond what I can manage, it leads to my life (myself) being controlled by them.

I am strictly "coexisting" with things.
On that basis,
a state where I can comfortably enjoy life is my "ideal way of living."
Therefore, basically, I keep things to a minimum. Just what is necessary is enough.
At the same time
Do not be overly minimalist.
Do not reduce too much.
There are also things that I actively incorporate into my daily life.
In my case, those are
books
tableware
art
These three things.
I will touch upon the reasons for this.
..

Books
I like both paper and digital versions.
Because books expand my inner world, "reading" has become a habit that I cannot separate from my life.
If you want to make things compact,
digital is the only choice, but...
After all.
Paper books have their own unique "ease of use."
The sound when flipping through pages.
The texture is pleasant.
You can start reading immediately,
and it's easy to intuitively jump to the parts you want to read.
So, even though they are bulkier than digital,
I still properly own paper books.
I do let go of them from time to time.
However, I will never minimize my book collection
"just to be a minimalist."

Tableware
Once again, tableware is an essential part of life.
365 days a year.
There aren't many things that are "essential to do several times a day."
Also, when it comes to meals, the appearance is a big part of what leads to the actual taste and satisfaction.
It's strange, but by using tableware that matches the menu or is simply your favorite, it feels even more delicious.
If I'm going to the trouble...
I want to eat it in its most delicious state.
Therefore, tableware that colors such "meals and dining tables"
does not need to be kept to a minimum.
Having a certain variety
increases the enjoyment of 365 days a year.

Among them,"Ailas"tableware is very useful in our home as well.
It is a tableware series
where ease of use and design are perfectly fused.

Partly because other parts of my life are minimal,
"Which mug should I use today?"
"I'll plate dinner on that one"
Even such decision-making adds color to life.

Art
Compared to books or tableware,
I wouldn't have any trouble living without these.
But what would be troublesome is...
The existence of art.
Paintings and objects.
Even if they have no function, just by "being there"
they give vitality to a room (life)
just by existing.
Especially in a minimal space, there is little decoration, so
this kind of art stands out.
This might be a compatibility with art
that is unique to minimalists.
Just having a small animal object in an empty corner makes that corner feel much more endearing. Truly the power of art.
I can live without them, but
without them, it wouldn't be a "life".
They are an essential presence for me.
If I find something I like, I incorporate it without hesitation.
I believe that the tableware and paper books I have chosen from the heart also carry an air of art (objects) in a sense.

Books
Tableware
Art
All of these are things that can fit in both hands.
It is precisely because of a minimal space and lifestyle that
their presence shines.
They support my simple life
so that it does not become too inorganic.
Above all, having "what I love" color the space directly fulfills me as I spend time there.
These are also "effects that exist precisely because other things are few." If everything were abundant, they might get buried. Perhaps this is a benefit of being a minimalist.

Even if you call yourself a minimalist,
what do you minimize? What do you not?
I believe there is individuality in that.
Strip away what doesn't fit. By decluttering,
your connection to the values and things that are important to you may deepen.
I have written several books so far.
You can read them for free with Kindle Unlimited. I would be happy if you read them.
