Hoshino Resorts 'KAI Miyajima' to Open in Hiroshima in Summer 2026! A Scenic Hot Spring with Panoramic Views of the Seto Inland Sea
Finally, Hoshino Resorts is making its first entry into Hiroshima Prefecture!
In a press release the other day, information regarding Hoshino Resorts' upcoming new properties was released.
In this article, we will introduce the appeal of 'KAI Miyajima' from among those properties.
First entry into Hiroshima, a scenic inn with all-ocean-view rooms
Hoshino Resorts will open 'KAI Miyajima' in the summer of 2026.
This marks the first entry into Hiroshima Prefecture for Hoshino Resorts, and it is located in a prime spot at Miyajimaguchi, overlooking the Great Torii Gate of Itsukushima Shrine.
All 54 guest rooms feature ocean views, and from the long sofa by the window, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the beautiful islands of the calm Seto Inland Sea.
A top-floor public bath with views of both the sea and the mountains
The top floor of the facility is equipped with a large public bath featuring two distinct bathing areas. The south-facing open-air bath is designed so that the tub seems to merge with the Seto Inland Sea, allowing you to experience a sense of openness as if you were soaking in the sea itself.
In the north-facing indoor bath, you can soothe your mind and body in two types of tubs—hot and warm—while gazing at the lush green mountain range.
Experiencing the history of the Seto Inland Sea: The 'Stone Bath' revived for the modern age
Another highlight is the attempt to recreate the traditional 'Stone Bath' (Ishiburo) from the Seto Inland region for the modern day.
We will offer a high-temperature, low-humidity bathing experience that warms you to the core with radiant heat from the floor, walls, and ceiling, located near the shoreline where the original stone baths once stood. You can enjoy a special stay where you can feel history and culture firsthand.
