[How I Write My Notes] Turning the Inconvenience of NotebookLM Slide Downloads to My Advantage!

When looking at articles by various creators, I see some who put an incredible amount of effort into creating their posts.
That enjoyment of the struggle is fine, but it's a shame when articles stop being published because the burden is too great.
So, this time, I would like to introduce how I create my note articles.
On the other hand, looking at various creators' articles, it seems there are others who create articles similar to mine.
Therefore, while you may already know much of this content, please make use of it if there is even one point that is helpful.
Conversely, if you have any methods like, "You can create them faster by doing it this way," please let me know!
1️⃣ Creating a draft using AI
I throw information into the AI in bullet points as it comes to mind, without worrying about the order lol.
I, of course, convey the purpose.
In my case, if the content requires a search, I use Grok or Sakana Chat.
If I don't have a specific preference, I use Gemini.
For explanations of procedures or processes, I don't need to worry much about the structure, so I assemble the text myself. In this case only, I skip the steps and only perform the title consideration in 4️⃣.
2️⃣ Adjusting the draft
The Japanese expressions in Grok, Sakana Chat, and Gemini don't quite feel right.
Therefore, I use those AIs for the initial draft, and use Claude for expression adjustment and restructuring. I copy and paste into Claude.
If I consider future storage, I copy and paste into Google Docs before connecting to Claude.

I could create it directly in Claude, but often the structure doesn't turn out very well. I feel the quality is higher when there is original information and Claude focuses only on checking and correcting it.
3️⃣ Finishing the article body
I supplement information that I failed to throw into Claude's AI on the note article, or correct expressions that feel "a bit off" myself. Embedding functions are also manual, so I do them myself.
In my experience, I correct 20% to 80% of Claude's text.
The range is quite large depending on the content.
However, since the overall structure of the article is very helpful, in most cases, it is overwhelmingly faster than creating it by myself.
4️⃣ Adjusting the title
AIs often suggest titles along with the text, but I almost never use them lol.
When I was a student, a professor taught me that "writing is a living thing."
If the body text changes, the title changes too.
Therefore, after the body text is complete, I have Grok or Claude suggest about five candidates and reconsider them. I have had both Grok and Claude read the trends of well-regarded articles on note and my own highly-rated articles.

5️⃣ Creating illustrations for the body
You can copy the URL of the article you are creating using the "Copy share link" in the note three-dot menu. I register this as a source for NotebookLM.
For the NotebookLM used for creating illustrations, I have pre-registered the slide creation prompt and DESIGN.md as sources.
The illustrations are created using the slide creation function.
The current NotebookLM PowerPoint file is in a format where one image is pasted on each slide. It is usually rumored to be "uneditable and hard to use" lol.
However, I turn this to my advantage.
Open PowerPoint and copy the image you want to put in the article with Ctrl+C.

Then, paste it directly into the note editing screen with Ctrl+V.
If it's in the body text, you don't even need to go to the trouble of converting it to an image file.
6️⃣ Creating the header image
Unlike the body text, only the article's header image cannot be registered unless it is an image file.
So, I manually edit the slides created by NotebookLM, and select PNG format in PowerPoint's "Save As."
It asks whether to save all slides or the selected slide, so I choose the one that fits my purpose.

As a preliminary step, I recommend creating a 23.28cm x 44.48cm frame for your header image.

Since the display size for header images is fixed, placing a frame on your slide in advance allows you to anticipate which area will be shown.
When selecting a header image on note, the display frame is centered, right? Therefore, if you place the frame in the center of the slide, you won't need to adjust the position or size when registering it on note. You just need to check it and click OK to be sure.

Also, if an illustration for the main text cannot be used as is and requires manual correction, save it as a PNG in the same way. However, for the main text, it is easy because you can insert images by dragging and dropping them from a folder.
And, I realized this while writing the article.
I could drag and drop for the header image too!
Wait? Could I always do that??
I had no idea... 💦
What do you think?
Many of you likely have the "NotebookLM" logo in your illustrations, so I apologize if this is all information you already knew 💦
I hope this provides even a small hint to help make your note articles even better!
