[Experience Report] An era where you can pass through ATMs with just your face!? I tried FACE CASH for Shizuoka Bank

With the spread of cashless payments, there may be some of you who rarely touch cash in your daily lives.

However, have you ever been in trouble because you only had shops that accept cash payments, or had a sudden drinking party, just when you didn't have any cash on you?

STEP 1 Pre-registration

First, follow the instructions to apply for pre-registration.

If it goes smoothly, the pre-registration application will be completed in about 5 minutes.
As soon as our bank's prescribed screening is completed, the results will be sent to you by email.
(It takes about 1 week to complete pre-registration.)

STEP 2 Face information registration at Seven Bank ATM

Since the pre-registration completion email arrived safely, I went to a Seven Bank ATM to complete the registration.

★Don't forget to bring your items (the Shizugin savings card registered in STEP 1 and the smartphone with the phone number registered in STEP 1).

Perform new registration from a Seven Bank ATM.

What surprised me a little was that I was asked to "smile" during this facial information registration. Since I'm almost never asked to smile except when taking photos, I felt a bit embarrassed, but I managed to complete the facial information registration...!
Next, I entered my pre-registered phone number and authenticated via SMS.

Once the registration of facial information and mobile phone number is complete, a "Face Authentication Passcode" to be used for transactions will be sent to your mobile phone via SMS.

With this, the main registration is complete.

STEP 3 Start Transaction

Once registered, you're good to go hands-free.
Remember your Face Authentication Passcode and head to the ATM empty-handed.
(You will need to enter your Face Authentication Passcode and your cash card PIN.)

Just like a transaction with a cash card,
start the transaction from the "Withdrawal/Deposit/Credit Transaction, etc." button*.
*The services available are deposits, withdrawals, and balance inquiries.

I was really able to withdraw money empty-handed!!!
However, if you really go empty-handed, you need to be careful because if you are wearing clothes without pockets, you will have to carry the withdrawn bills as they are!

I was nervous about the first-time experience of withdrawing money from an ATM using only face authentication, but I was surprised that the transaction went more smoothly than I had expected. I am looking forward to seeing how this service will become a part of customers' daily lives in the future.
