Why I Write on Note: Using Note as a Place to Store My Thoughts
Introduction
In my line of work, many ideas, thoughts, and insights appear and disappear every day. I have tried writing them down in planners or paper notebooks, taking notes on my smartphone, and using digital note-taking tools like Evernote.
I was looking for a place where I could keep these thoughts, reflect on them, and interact with others.
One answer to that is "note".
Note is not just a blogging tool or an article platform; it is very attractive to me as a "digital space for thinking" where I can record and organize my thoughts. In this post, I will talk about how I intend to use note and what I find appealing about it.
The Importance of Making Your Thoughts Visible
Countless thoughts and ideas come to mind during work and daily life, and I have always felt it is a great waste to let them just drift away.
While it is fine to accumulate ideas and know-how in notebooks or digital notes, I rarely look back at them, and I have been unable to "sublimate" them—that is, to intentionally reflect on them and put them to use.
They ended up as unread books of knowledge.
So, I thought that by using note, I could leave my thoughts and inspirations of the moment in a "visible form," and by outputting them as articles that others can read, I could record my own growth and look back on them later.
For example, by noting down things I felt during a morning walk or insights gained from my daily routine on note, they can sometimes become seeds for future ideas or projects.
Just by recording them, the emotions and perspectives of that moment are solidified, becoming valuable hints for my future self.
Organizing Thoughts Through Output
By putting what is in my head into words, my thoughts are naturally organized. For me, writing articles on note is a space for "organizing thoughts through output."
Thoughts that were vague at first become clear in the process of writing, allowing me to gain new perspectives.
I plan to write down notes on the following themes every day. It will be like a completely miscellaneous notebook.
Things I noticed during my daily routine
Ideas that came to mind while walking or reading
Tips on health and training
Insights gained from dialogue with my inner self and meditation
Know-how gained at work
Things I want to create and practice
Things I am interested in and want to learn
The Appeal of Note: Simple Enough to Keep Going
I believe the greatest appeal of note lies in its simplicity.
There are few unnecessary decorations or functions, and the design is set up so you can focus on writing.
Thanks to this simplicity, I feel it is easy to leave thoughts as memos and keep it up.
Furthermore, another appeal is that by publishing my articles on note, I can connect with others and easily receive feedback. The feeling that "my thoughts are reaching someone" by publishing them is an experience unique to note.
Conclusion: Note is a "Place to Store Thoughts, a Library for Myself"
For me, note is not just a writing tool, but a 'digital library of myself' for recording and deepening my thoughts.
It is not a place to let books gather dust, but a place for someone—and for myself—to read them.
By leaving my daily realizations and ideas on note, I hope to be able to achieve personal growth and make new discoveries.
I intend to continue using note to make my thoughts visible and keep sharing them.
▼ I had an AI draw this image of someone studying in a library, just because. I will do my best to be able to draw things like this myself someday.
