Right Now, Towards the Promise of the World [Supporting PJ's Creative Awards Entry]

Here is a novel called The Promise of the World.

It feels as if the events happening within it are something I can touch, as if they were real.
From the carefully depicted prologue, the comfort of a moment with his great-grandfather and the scent of it made me feel as if I were spending time with his great-grandfather myself. Even though such a scene doesn't actually exist in my own memories, I was able to feel it as if it were my own, and I think that must be due to the way the prose is written.

Unlike parents, grandparents and great-grandparents are like friends to a child.
The story progresses in a way that makes you unable to stop imagining what kind of tale will unfold with his friend, his great-grandfather. To think that such a thing would happen!

It is also like a small summer adventure story, where he is bewildered by an encounter with love before he even knows what love is as an elementary school student, and is led by the slightly precocious Suna-chan. Because they share the same circumstances, the story accelerates rapidly.

The fates of these four people, bound together over such a long period of time. Because it is fate, it must have been decided. Even though it is decided, they run forward with all their might in that moment.
There are sad things and painful things, but all of that is also to 'move forward'.

It also gave my own tomorrow a firm push forward.

My favorite scene is in the middle. The scene with the three of them: the chief priest, Nobuo, and Suna-chan.
The chief priest may be an important person at the temple, but I felt so warmed by the way he interacted with the two of them with a kind heart.

With the Obon season approaching, PJ's The Promise of the World is something that will make you think a little. I really wanted everyone to read this truly wonderful world.

It is a masterpiece worthy of the Creative Awards.
