🐋How 'Chill-Dark' is made

Regarding this article, before it was finished, the very first art I created for it is this one(*´ω｀)

Ta-da.

The concept of 'Let's make it Chill-Dark!' was already decided in the article above, so the rest was just exploring how to draw it(*´ω｀)

Actually, I was drawing from the character first.

Like this, at first I thought I'd make something with a 'grotesque daily life' vibe, so I was putting together prompts and working hard at it.

I posted this on X as well, but it's a chill sheep (with horns)~.
It's just... I need a bit more punch.

I wonder if... I learned that if you go for a 'fluffy character' feel, 'fluffy' almost always turns into a sheep(*´ω｀)

Hmm, then I thought, let's add some human-like qualities~.

I managed to create an elegant woman with cat ears.
I absolutely love the hoodie and shorts style... ahem, I mean I really love it (*´ω｀)
I'm sure there's someone out there who definitely gets it!! (I'm convinced!) ✨

But that's not quite it.
It's no good, something just feels 'off' about it (*´ω*)

Anyway, it was noon, so I decided to make lunch and picked up a kitchen knife.

After that, I had my fill and started again,

I realized that with nijijourney, words don't always translate correctly depending on the 'style' you choose, and in this style, 'kitchen knife' often turns into a saw, so I stopped.
I do like the world-building, though.

And so, what was born was...

I liked this character, but I didn't like how she was holding the knife or the design of the knife itself, so it became a rejected piece.
However, that's when I decided to draw a series with this kind of touch (*´ω*)

Sometimes ideas suddenly come to me, or I decide 'This is it!' while I'm in the middle of creating.
