[Christmas Thumbnails with Canva x Copilot🎄] Introducing AI love letters for animal image generation with Copilot😸 and Christmas editing with Canva (Wait, it had that feature!?)
[Summoning Christmas Animals with Copilot🌟]
Thank you for finding this article(´_ゝ`)
I'm Natsume, and I have a soft spot for cats among all animals, sorry about that🤣
Well, for this special Christmas project, we have a joint collaboration between Copilot (who is great with animals, in my opinion) and Canva (who is great with image editing)✨
This article is about creating a thumbnail featuring animals and Christmas, just like the heading of this article.
Now, let's have Copilot create the important animal image for us.
Here is the love letter (prompt) for Copilot😊
A photo of a cat wearing a Christmas hat, looking at a Christmas cake with sparkling eyes and a happy smile

Even this is considered "smiling" for a cat.
Animals don't usually show expressions, but here I am (Natsume), a scoundrel trying to force AI to create "human-like expressions" on them... I'm starting to worry if I'll get in trouble for this( ;∀;).
💡Not sure what to have a cat do in AI animal image generation? What should you do?
In that case, think about the Christmas situation and ask:
“What would a human do, or what are they doing?”
Think about it in terms of a human, and then swap the subject to a "cat"😊
Did you figure out who I was imagining when I wrote this love letter?
It's the behavior of a child.
At Christmas, they wear red Santa hats and their eyes sparkle with excitement at the cake, right(´_ゝ`)👆
It seems the AI recognized "Christmas hat" as a "Santa hat".
Next is this one.

Yes, this is the expression I, Natsume, highly recommend.
The AI love letter is,
A photo of a cat wearing a Christmas hat, closing its eyes and smiling at a Christmas cake
I changed the wording to "closing its eyes" and "smile" to get the expression that humans perceive as a "big grin" in manga and anime.
Since it managed to create the "smile" that humans desire, I'll share it here as well✨
Please, try using this love letter!!(´_ゝ`)
Next, I will explain how to put the image from Copilot into Canva.
[Upload images to Canva]
Once you open Canva, select your creation size, and click "Uploads" -> "Upload files" on the left banner😊

Then, a browser window will appear where you can select your files, so go ahead and click on your image(´_ゝ`)✨
Now, let's move on to image editing.
[Wait, what is that app!?]
Canva actually has a tool called "Apps" .
Various features are consolidated as "Apps," such as creating "3D text" or turning photos into anime-style images with "Image processing."
I haven't explored all of them, but I have a few recommendations.
One of them is this one.

Try opening "Apps" from the editing tools on the left of the editing screen.
If you scroll down, you will find an icon of a butterfly with a magnifying glass called
"Enhancer"
.
This is the image before using the "Enhancer" tool.

Click on the image, then click on "Enhancer" .
(The order doesn't matter. If you click the app tool first, it will prompt you to select an image(*'ω'*) )

If you increase the resolution too much, it might end up looking unnaturally smooth and scary, so "4x" magnification is fine.
And then...?

Ugh! It's hard to tell on note! I'm sorry💦
The blurry parts have become somewhat smoother in outline and the image quality has improved.
I really want you to check this for yourself on a PC(´;ω;`) I am so sorry.
Now that we've improved the image, let's move on to editing(´_ゝ`)
[Review of Canva Recommendations #3]

When you paste an image, there is "white space" like this, right(´_ゝ`)
We will make good use of this white space with "text" and "elements."
The canvas is white by default, but I have set it to "black" to make it easier to see.
In [Canva Recommendations #3], I recommend "something" from this point on.
If you haven't read it yet, I would love for you to take a look.
Here is the concise summary.
💡 Match the background color to the colors in the "image"
Click on the canvas and select "Background color" from the canvas editing tools that appear at the top.
Then, on the left, you will see Photo colors.
By using this, you can match the colors to the ones used in the photo or the image.

I decided to go with this color for now.
Is it... the color of the cat? (´_ゝ`)
Using this as a base, since this is a Christmas thumbnail, let's add Christmas elements to it.
[Excellent elements]
Canva is overflowing with many excellent "elements."
💡Element "Christmas"
If you search for "Christmas" in "Elements," as you can see, it is filled with tons of cute items.
(The crown icon indicates premium elements)

Now, I'll pick a few and create something.

They're cute, aren't they, the elements (´_ゝ`)
Oh! Of course, the AI cat is the cutest one of all! 💦
The space I left open is for adding "text."
💡Element "Snow"
Here is another recommended "element": "Snow" 😊

You can add snow effects, and there are also crystals, so please be sure to use them (´_ゝ`)
Next is the text. Hmm, I wonder what I should put in...('Д')
[Inserting text]
Please select Text and click "Add a heading."

"Add a heading" should appear on the canvas, so please select "Font settings," "Font color change," and "Font effects" as described in Canva Recommendations #3.

*For details, refer to [Canva Recommendations #3]

After finishing the "Font settings," "Font color change," and "Font effects," I will complete it for now.
However, this sometimes happens.
The text and the asset overlap, and the text ends up behind the asset.

Oh no! 💦
My hard-earned text!!!
Now, what should we do!?
[Layer Operations]
💡 What is a layer?
It is an English word meaning "stratum," "hierarchy," or "stack," representing a state of being stacked.
In this case, it means that the asset and the text are overlapping, resulting in two layers coexisting.
A problem like this is nothing! ✨
Canva is an excellent design tool, so this is a piece of cake. ✨

Right-click the text, select "Layer," and then choose whether the text should be "Bring to front" or "Send to back".
Usually, you want the text on top, so select "Bring to front."
(The image above shows it as unselectable because it is already at the "front" 😊)

Yes (´_ゝ`)
And with that, it is complete!!
How was it??
The points are marked with 💡, so you can change it for things other than Christmas, like "New Year's" or birthdays, so please give it a try (´_ゝ`)
I hope this article is helpful to everyone ✨
Well then, have a wonderful Christmas~ ✨
An early Merry Christmas from Natsume!! 🎄✨
