My First Kindle Publishing: "Messages Conveying the Joy of Publishing" Part 2 - Shuzo-san

Hello, I am Yocchan, the director of the Kindle Library.
In this library, we value not only introducing books but also delivering information about Kindle publishing.

This time, I came up with a project to introduce Kindle authors who responded to my request: "Please give us a message that conveys the joy of publishing and encourages those interested in Kindle publishing." and they kindly provided their messages.

① What motivated you to start Kindle publishing:

Disappointment with being a salaryman and an interest in side hustles for extra pocket money led me to read various e-books, and books about Kindle publishing started appearing as recommendations.

Recommended book from another author: "How Will You Live After FIRE?" by Nobuhiro Terasawa

The author, Mr. Terasawa, is a writer who has published over 20 Kindle books.
He himself has achieved FIRE. He talks about how the definition of FIRE is different from what is commonly said in society, and he presents his own theory. Also, it contains real stories of the "past, present, and future" of 20 FIRE peers, including himself.

What Mr. Terasawa currently thinks about happiness is

Indeed, since the standard for happiness varies from person to person, it is impossible to define exactly what happiness is, but
it can be defined that if you do not feel unhappy, you are happy. This sentence was the one that resonated with me the most.

There are 20 people who have achieved FIRE. I learned that they all lived freely as a result of doing what they needed to do steadily from an early stage, through trial and error, and by putting in the effort. Since the path each person has walked is different, I think there will be someone you feel is similar to you.

By the way,
have you ever heard that "1% of people who hear something will put it into practice,

These are the words of Akihiro Nakatani, who has published over 800 books and influenced many people with his words.

Regardless of FIRE, it really hits home how difficult and important it is to "keep going."

The History of Kindle Publishing

Finally, I would like to look at the flow of Kindle publishing to date.

October 2012: E-book publishing service started
October 2021: Paper book publishing service started
2021: Individual author publishing began to increase
2023: AI & publishing support & collaboration books have emerged

It seems that publishing support has become active since last year. It is said that the quality of books has improved because of this. It is good to "complete the work by yourself and level up gradually with each book you publish," and it is also good to "receive publishing support and incorporate the skills of experienced people to publish." I think it is wonderful that the options have expanded.
