Which type are you? 5 thinking types
Looking at the sentences below, which one resonates with you?
1. You can earn money!
2. You can achieve a free lifestyle!
3. You can spend every day feeling excited!
Which words resonated with you?
People have different thinking types.
Depending on this type, the points that resonate differ, and the way to communicate changes significantly.
Here, I will introduce five types.
The 5 types
Type 1: Logical thinking type
The first type is the logical thinking type.
They react to logical words such as data, evidence, track records, and numbers.
If you tell this type,
"It's just amazing!"
"It's incredibly good!"
they will not react to abstract expressions like these, and
"What is the more concrete evidence?"
is what they will think.
Type 2: Emotion-dominant type
The second type is the emotion-dominant type.
They react to emotional words such as the five senses, intuition, sensibility, imagination, episodes, and inspiration.
They show interest in things like "It was really great!" or certain episodes.
Opposite to the logical thinking type, if you line up too many numbers or theories,
"It seems difficult..."
is a reaction they often have.
Type 3: Anxiety-dominant type
The third type is the anxiety-dominant type.
They react to words that stir up anxiety, such as worry, dissatisfaction, threats, complaints, and misfortune.
This does not mean they are negative; they are also cautious and thoughtful people.
In flyers and advertisements, you often see things like,
・If you leave it as it is, it will be a disaster...
・Is your XX okay?
You see these, right?
For this type, rather than communicating optimistically, you should say, 'If this happens, you can become like this.'
Showing the process to resolve their anxiety is the key.
Type 4: Curiosity Type
The fourth type is the curiosity type.
They react to words that pique their curiosity, such as new, fun, novel, groundbreaking, and rare.
'Exciting!'
'Thrilling!'
'Sparkling!'
They react to words that make their hearts dance.
Unlike the anxiety-dominant type mentioned earlier, when they hear negative or anxious elements, they react poorly, saying things like,
'Why talk about such gloomy things...'
and so on.
Type 5: Profit-Loss Type
The fifth type is the profit-loss type.
They react to words related to cost-benefit analysis, such as profitable, money-making, bargain, guarantee, and not losing money.
・You can earn XX yen in just 3 months!
・In the case of XX, full refund guaranteed!
Whether or not they will lose money is very important to them.
Showing past achievements and success stories, as well as guarantee systems clearly, makes them more likely to react.
Summary
How was it?
We introduced five types.
Of course, you don't necessarily fit into just one of these.
You may possess a mix of various thinking types, but which type is strongest in the customer in front of you?
For example, if you speak about profit and loss to an emotional type,
they won't be easily moved.
By knowing the type, the words you use will change,
and their reaction will change significantly as well.
And, which type are you yourself?
What kind of words do you react to?
By analyzing this, you will see the words that resonate with people of your same type.
Please try to observe this consciously!
Thank you for reading until the end.
