[Personal Memo] Steps to import into the "Anki" app, essential for my self-study
*This is a personal memo so I don't forget.
I hope this serves as a reference for those who are studying and interested in "Anki".
The "Anki" app is something I love using for my self-study.
When I buy a reference book, I enter the parts I want to memorize into "Anki" in a question-and-answer format.
The ability to sync between the web version and the app is also a great feature.
Questions I got wrong appear repeatedly after a few days, which helps with memory retention.
Earning many of my certifications was only possible thanks to this app.
(I entered a huge amount of questions when studying for the Real Estate Notary and Childcare Worker certifications, but since there are many convenient things on the web and in apps, I think it's fine to use the method that suits you best.)
I'm studying English now, so I was thinking of gradually entering the Japanese and English from my reference book into "Anki," butI realized it would be much easier if I used ChatGPT.
1. Take a screenshot of the page and attach it to ChatGPT. (It's convenient because you can send multiple images at once)
"Transcribe this for Anki import"
"Column A: Japanese / Column B: English"
"Tab-separated"
"Output in a code block (a format that shows a copy button)"
2. Copy what ChatGPT outputs and paste it into Excel. Save as text (tab-separated).
3. Open the file from step 2, name it, and save it with the following settings.
・File type: All files.
・Character encoding: UTF-8.
4. Import into Anki
*It is also possible to provide the file to ChatGPT and have it output a file.
I have used Excel to import before, but I am impressed by how easy this is!
The "Anki" life begins again.
Thanks for reading.
This is the kind of person I am ↓
